On March 25, actor Jonathan Majors found himself in the spotlight for reasons beyond his burgeoning career when he was taken into custody after an alleged domestic violence incident involving a 33-year-old male, identified as Majors, and a 30-year-old female. The New York Police Department released a statement to Variety outlining the details: “A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female,” revealing Majors as the purported aggressor. The statement continued, stating that the victim reported being assaulted, resulting in minor injuries to her head and neck. Majors was promptly detained by officers and the victim was taken to a local hospital, reported to be in stable condition.

Immediately rebutting the allegations, a spokesperson representing Majors vehemently denied any wrongdoing, asserting to CNN on the same day, “He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”

Despite being released from custody after a few hours, the repercussions of the assault allegations echoed through Majors’ professional life. The following day, on March 26, news surfaced that his advertising collaboration with the U.S. Army had been suspended in light of the accusations. Laura DeFrancisco, the public affairs chief of the Army Enterprise Marketing Office, expressed concern and confirmed the pause of the campaign involving Majors, stating, “The U.S. Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors, and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest. While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”

Fast forward three months later, and reports suggest Majors countered by filing a lawsuit against the alleged victim, Grace Jabbari, as per court documents obtained by Insider on June 26. In his legal filing, Majors admitted to physically handling Jabbari, explaining that he moved her to protect her from potential danger in the vicinity. He elaborated that Jabbari had made attempts to grab him, resulting in a tussle that extended onto the street. The incident report cited by Insider outlined Majors’ concerns for Jabbari’s safety amidst traffic and detailed his actions of physically placing her into a vehicle to ensure her well-being.
