Actor Blair Underwood and wife Desiree DaCosta announced in a joint statement that they will be ending their relationship after 27 years of marriage.
The couple posted a statement on Instagram, announcing their split publicly.
The instagram post begins as follows:
“After a tremendous amount of thought, prayer and work on ourselves individually and collectively, we have come to the conclusion to end our marriage that began 27 years ago.”
The post praises their children and calls them “our proudest achievements.” The statement goes on to say that the 27-year marriage “has been a beautiful journey.
Underwood’s acting career broke out in the late ’80s when he was cast the hit TV show, “L.A. Law.” The 56-year-old has received two Golden Globe nominations for “L.A Law” and “In Treatment” and was awarded a Grammy award in 2009 for best spoken word album for “An Inconvenient Truth.”
