Among my most gratifying achievements as a plastic surgeon is the successful completion of an intricate reconstructive surgery for a patient who had experienced a traumatic injury. Beyond the restoration of their physical appearance, the procedure played a pivotal role in elevating their emotional well-being and overall quality of life. Observing the profound positive impact on a patient’s confidence and recovery is a source of genuine satisfaction, encapsulating the very essence of my unwavering commitment to excellence in plastic surgery.

What is the future of your field?

The future of aesthetic plastic surgery is being shaped by technological advancements, innovative surgical techniques, and a growing emphasis on personalized treatments. This includes a shift towards minimally invasive procedures, regenerative medicine, and the incorporation of AI and machine learning into the field.

What is the biggest misconception about your field?

One prevalent misconception is the notion that plastic surgeons aren’t considered real doctors. Contrary to this belief, plastic surgery is often misunderstood as solely aiming for an artificial or unnatural appearance, a misconception perpetuated by media portrayals and societal stereotypes. In truth, contemporary plastic surgery is dedicated to enhancing and restoring both form and function, with a primary objective of achieving results that appear natural.

Another fallacy revolves around the idea that plastic surgery is exclusively focused on aesthetics. This is a misperception, as plastic surgery encompasses reconstructive procedures addressing defects resulting from cancer resections, burns, trauma, or pediatric congenital abnormalities.

What are your most requested procedures?

My most requested procedures encompass a wide spectrum, ranging from breast augmentation and lift to Brazilian Butt lift with abdominal etching, as well as liposuction, abdominoplasty, facelifts, and eyelid surgeries.

What surgical advancements are you most excited about?

I’m particularly excited about the latest surgical advancements, which include breakthroughs in Regenerative Medicine, 3D printing technology, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in plastic surgery, and pioneering techniques for non-surgical facial rejuvenation, all while emphasizing advanced scar reduction methods.

What are you best known for?

I provide personalized care with an emphasis on excellent bedside manner. I approach each patient as if they are part of my own family, ensuring a compassionate and understanding experience. I make myself readily available to address any questions or concerns that patients may have, fostering a sense of accessibility and support throughout their healthcare journey.

What is your most memorable patient reaction?

A patient of mine, who had independently shed around 150 pounds, faced the challenge of excess skin around her breasts and abdomen. The priceless and deeply memorable moment unfolded when she glimpsed her transformed body post-surgery, with the sheer joy and emotions radiating from her expression.

What do you love most about your profession?

As a plastic surgeon, what I love most about my profession is the opportunity to positively impact the lives of my patients. Witnessing the transformative effects of reconstructive or aesthetic procedures and the boost in their confidence and well-being brings immense satisfaction. The ability to combine medical expertise with artistry, creating natural and harmonious results, is both fulfilling and rewarding. Additionally, building trusting relationships with patients and being part of their journey towards self-improvement and enhanced quality of life is a privilege that I deeply appreciate in my role as a plastic surgeon.

What is your career-defining procedure?

As a plastic surgeon, defining a single procedure as the pinnacle of my career can be challenging, as the impact and significance of procedures may vary. However, if I were to highlight a career-defining area, it might be body contouring surgeries as well as aesthetic facial surgeries.
