Discover the ultimate choice for achieving remarkable eyebrow, submental, and neck lifting, while effectively reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Sofwave™ represents the cutting edge of skin revitalization technology, pioneering innovative methods to stimulate the production of new collagen. With FDA clearance for lifting the eyebrow, submental, and neck areas, as well as diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, Sofwave™ sets a new standard in aesthetic enhancement.

How Does Sofwave™ Work and What Makes It Different from Other Skin Revitalization Treatments?

Sofwave’s proprietary and patented Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology SUPERB™ technology, combined with an integrated cooling system (Sofcool™), delivers precise and controlled ultrasound energy to generate heat directly at 1.5mm in the mid-dermis, all while protecting the uppermost skin layer (epidermis) from burning and ensuring no damage to the underlying structures beneath the dermis.

The impacted treatment zones stimulate a natural healing response, which increases and regenerates collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the skin, leading to the improvement in fine lines and wrinkles and lifting of the neck, brows, and submental area, short-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite and treatment of acne scars.

What makes it different:

Sofwave™ provides a solution for patients wanting a non-invasive aesthetic treatment with proven efficacy, safety, and minimal downtime. More aggressive options can cause damage to the upper skin, which, in turn, requires a long healing period and considerable downtime. Also, there is a higher risk of side effects, including discoloration and discomfort.

What makes Sofwave™ different is that its unique technology enables the controlled delivery of energy, in terms of amount and location, while protecting the skin surface with a proprietary integrated cooling mechanism, Sofcool™, making it extremely safe. Our proprietary technology harnesses the power of ultrasound to induce efficient growth of natural collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid without the need for surgery, needles, downtime, or aftercare.

What Sensations Do Most People Experience During a Sofwave™ Treatment?

As with all energy-based devices, patients may feel a warmness on their skin.  With Sofwave™, the warmness sensation lasts about 1 second and quickly passes when the ultrasound pulse is over. Following treatment, there are no sensations and no need for special care. The patient may resume their daily activities immediately after treatment.

Spicy is an accurate description during the treatment process. Just when you think, “Wow, this is hot,”…it’s over. That is due to the Sofcool™ cooling effect that keeps the outer layer of the skin intact while the pulse is being delivered.

Minimizing the Spiciness Sensation and Addressing Post-Treatment Headaches with Sofwave™

Every practice is different, and the decision of what to use is always left up to the physician’s discretion.  Our Sofwave™ providers recommend any combination of the following options:

  • Topical Lidocaine/Tetracaine compound (23%/7%), BLT (20%/8%/4%), or Lidocaine 30% x 45-70 mins.
  • Remove completely with 70% Isopropyl alcohol prior to treatment.
  • Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen 50/50 inhalation.
  • Distraction techniques – squeeze balls, handheld fans, vibrational devices.
  • Forced air chiller (Zimmer tends to work exceptionally well).

There is no recommended post-treatment protocol with Sofwave™. Some patients may leave looking slightly flushed, but that normally resides after about 20 minutes.

Post-treatment headache:

Patients are free to take an over-the-counter pain reliever (such as oral Toradol) before they come in to relieve a post-headache, but a post-headache is not typical with a Sofwave™ treatment. Please review the side effects of the anesthetic used during the treatment session and see if it may have possibly been related to that.

Recommended Number of Sofwave™ Sessions for Optimal Results

The number of sessions depends on multiple factors, such as genetics, age, skin condition, nutrition, lifestyle, and the doctor’s preferences and recommendations. It is also dependent on the clinical indication the patient seeks to achieve. Most patients only need one treatment for the improvement of wrinkles and fine lines, and for the lifting of the eyebrow, submental, and neck. Some may benefit from additional treatment for better results. For the short-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite and the treatment of acne scars, the recommended number of sessions is 2-3, respectively. The sessions should be spaced 4-8 weeks apart.

Expected Timeline for Results After Sofwave™

Immediate results can be seen as soon as one week following the treatment, and are expected to see ongoing improvement for the coming 12 weeks as the natural skin regeneration process continues. As for the time the results typically last, many factors can affect it, such as genetics, age, skin condition, nutrition, lifestyle, etc. Sofwave’s clinical studies provide evidence for at least 6 months, and Sofwave’s histological evidence shows a significant effect up to one year following a single treatment.

Combining Sofwave™ with Other Treatments

Sofwave’s clinical studies focused on Sofwave™ treatments only and showed a significant improvement for the following clinical indications: improvement of wrinkles and fine lines; lifting of the eyebrow, submental, and neck; Short-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite; Treatment of acne scars. Sofwave™ did not conduct a study on combined treatments and does not have clinical data to either support or contradict this claim. There are no restrictions on using Sofwave™ with other treatments, and our doctors recommend doing Sofwave™ first.

Botox and Filler: Compatibility with Sofwave™ Treatment

No, Botox or filler do not pose a contraindication when using Sofwave™. It is, however, recommended to get a Sofwave™ treatment first and wait 48 hours before administering Botox or filler.
