What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest professional achievement is becoming a physician and being able to come to work every day doing what I love. I am grateful to be surrounded by many passionate and talented people in the medical and aesthetics field who have also dedicated their careers to improving patients’ lives. When I’m not working, I also love being a mom to my three children.
What is the future of your field?
In the area of anti-aging treatments, patients want minimally invasive beauty treatments that will help them maintain their youthful appearance and reverse the signs of aging. The medical aesthetics field is constantly innovating and evolving to meet these needs. I’ve also seen a big growth and interest in peptide therapy in anti-aging. I also offer this to my patients and have seen amazing results.
What is the biggest misconception about your field?
One of the biggest misconceptions about facial rejuvenation procedures, specifically cosmetic injections cannot be done and still look natural. My approach is to make subtle improvements while maintaining their natural appearance. My goal is to enhance a patient’s natural features, not change them. Also, patients have a big misconception about what one syringe will do thinking one syringe will make a drastic difference. Any form of face, skin, or health rejuvenation is a process and it may take time to achieve the desired result i.e. multiple treatments, additional refinements or a combination of treatments may be necessary.
What are your most requested procedures?
The top 5 concerns we treat are wrinkles, skin laxity, volume loss, stubborn fat, and stretch marks. When it comes to cosmetic injection treatments, neurotoxins and dermal lip fillers are often among the most popular treatments. Morpheus8 is the most requested skin rejuvenation & skin tightening treatment at our office – I’ve seen incredible results with it.
In terms of anti-aging medical therapies, peptides are becoming a more commonly requested treatment. This type of treatment is an injection you give yourself at home. Patients see a lot of anti-aging benefits for skin, hair, nails as well as enhancing weight loss, energy levels, body composition, and sleep.
What are you best known for?
I’m known for my aesthetic “eye” and holistic approach. I also try to listen well to the patient and find out what they want to get out of their visit. I often combine multiple treatments or therapies to achieve the best results. There’s always new technology, products, or treatments. It becomes very difficult for patients to be able to narrow down what’s trendy versus what may be right for them. I think it’s so important to educate patients on different treatments and which will best help achieve their goals.
What is your most memorable patient reaction?
A happy patient makes me happy. When patients come in to see me, they often have a reason. It may be to treat themselves or it may be an event they want to prepare for. For others, there may be other reasons. 2020 was a hard year for many, and recently I saw a return patient that I had not seen for about a year and told me her friends had told her to work on “healing myself so I came to see you”. I injected her midface, and lips with dermal fillers as well as her upper face with neurotoxin. When finished, I gave her the mirror and she cried. She said “I look more like my old self, thank you!” I also never forget and love to treat first-time patients. I will never forget when a first-time neurotoxin patient who was really nervous about her treatment wrote to me: “You are an artist and I am elated with my results.” This kind of response will always stay with me and is what I always strive for.
What sets your practice apart?
Our practice is staffed by an extremely talented group of physicians, surgeons, and medical providers who were hand-picked by Dr. Anh-Tuan Truong, our owner, and CEO. All providers are highly specialized in their field and ultimately leads to better outcomes for our patients. His vision is to offer all types of different procedures and impeccable customer service in the field of cosmetic surgery and medical esthetics. The Aesthetics department includes a medical spa with different types of lasers and the latest technologies so we can provide the best treatments to our patients.
What do you love most about your profession?
I am very passionate about my field and profession because I can combine my love for learning, beauty, and medical aesthetics to help patients look and feel better about themselves. I also feel very fortunate to work with an amazing group of providers that share the same passion.
What is your career-defining procedure?
I feel that there are many procedures I perform daily so I am not sure one of them defines my career. Although I feel comfortable with many procedures, I enjoy combining different techniques when injecting. For example, I may use “skin TOX” and “muscle TOX” for the frontalis in the same patient. Again, I can use many different procedures in combination to get the best results. I often ask patients specific and detailed questions on what they eat, how they live, how they feel, and what their goal is. I will develop a plan and combine medical-grade skincare, lasers, injectables, chemical peels, hormone treatments, peptide therapy, vitamin optimizations, and body treatments depending on each patient.
What new services are you excited to offer?
We are always looking to help our patients achieve their most requested aesthetic goals, so because of this, I am always looking for the newest and most effective procedures out there. We are waiting to bring on QWO this summer/fall. This would be a great addition to our new Tempsure laser. Tempsure has multiple handpieces, including FIRM which is specifically designed for cellulite of the buttocks and thighs. We are always looking for the latest and greatest ways to improve our patient results.
