You eat right, drink half your weight in water, balance your cardio with weight training, set aside time to get in touch with your zen self, but you still have stubborn areas of body fat that just won’t go away. Dr. Tahl Humes, founder and medical director of VITAHL Medical Aesthetics, offers two solutions to trim those bothersome areas.

“TruSculpt Flex and TruSculpt ID” are my go-to’s for patients who want to decrease body fat in targeted areas,” said Humes. And thanks to advanced laser therapies, body contouring can be done quickly, non-invasively, and without long recovery times.

TruSculpt ID is non-surgical fat reduction treatment. It delivers heat via radiofrequency to the subcutaneous fat layer for 15 minutes, while keeping the skin at a comfortable temperature. Some equate the feeling to a hot-stone massage, and many see the desirable results in six-12 weeks. Results can be achieved in a few as one treatment, but many patients will do two treatments per area for optimal results.

TruSculpt ID can be used on almost all areas of the body.

TruScupt Flex is a muscle-sculpting device that can be personalized based on the patient’s fitness level, shape, and goals. It uses electrical muscle stimulation to target specific muscle groups. The treatments are designed to simulate different workouts by replicating intensified twisting, squat, and crunch actions.

Two areas at a time (8 muscle groups) can be targeted at once including the abdomen, glutes, and thigh muscles. The patient will feel contractions during the treatment and something like a typical post-workout soreness but otherwise, the treatment is pain-free and regular activity can be resumed right after. Four to six treatments are recommended to achieve the full benefit.

“Post-treatment(s), I always recommend enjoying a healthy diet and exercise regimen,” said Humes.
