You’re never too old to perfect your smile but when it comes to braces, not everyone wants to walk around with a mouth full metal, especially when you’re a working professional. But when it comes to straightening your teeth, you do have options.

HB: What is Invisalign?

Invisalign are braces made of clear tray aligners. The clear aligners are one solid piece of plastic that’s strong enough to put just enough pressure on specific parts of your teeth to slowly shift them into better alignment. To start using Invisalign, you first need to have a consultation with your dentist. They’ll examine your oral health and smile. Since Invisalign is custom made to fit the patient’s mouth, your dentist will then take impressions of your mouth. A treatment plan is then created to help you reach your aesthetic goals.

HB: How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign utilizes aligner trays that are replaced one to two weeks. Since each replacement tray is designed to shift your teeth into position, it’s not uncommon for each tray to feel a bit a little bit different.

Depending on your treatment plan and degree of correction needed, you’ll wear your Invisalign trays for most of the day, about 20 to 22 hours a day. Invisalign retainers are removable, which means you eat, brush and floss normally. It’s important to note that even though Invisalign aligners are one single piece, they are not traditional dental retainers. Invisalign gently shift your teeth into proper alignment whereas retainers keep teeth in place.

HB: How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The Invisalign treatment can cost anywhere from $3,000–$7,000, however, the actual cost will depend on your individual needs. If you have a severe overbite or your teeth are very crooked, you may need to wear Invisalign longer than someone who only needs minimal correction.

HB: Am I a Candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is designed to correct various dental concerns, including crowding, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. While most patients are suitable candidates, there are cases that require other forms of treatment. Patients with poor oral hygiene and dental caries will need to tend to those issues prior to starting treatment.

You can make the most out of your Invisalign treatment by wearing your retainers are recommended and continuing with a comprehensive oral health regimen. If you’d like to know more about what Invisalign can do for you, contact Dr. Kalasho today at GLO Modern Dental.
