7 Professional Tips to Fight the Frizz This Summer

Wellness May 15, 2015 By Nikki Tucker

With the temperatures heating up, it means short shorts and skirts, higher heels and of course, frizzier hair. To help control the humidity, it’s essential to just ‘do you’ (pun intended) and rock your natural tresses. For the best way to enhance your texture, Keratin Complex International Creative Team Member Abraham Sprinkle, along with celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena, share tips on how to wear your hair wavy or natural so you can help tame the frizz and always look your best all summer long.

“To create texture on fine hair, Keratin Complex Sweet Definition Sugar Mist enhances and exaggerates what hair has.  For thick or coarse, run a wand through hair along with styling pomade, like Keratin Complex Iconic Polish to tame hair,” Sprinkle said.

“Prep your hair for humidity by doing a conditioning treatment and drinking lots of water,” Mena said.

Like stated above, Abraham advises, “Keratin Complex KeraBalm mixed with Keratin Complex Glowtion Potion is the ultimate protection for heat damage because it creates a barrier while hydrating hair and taming down frizz.”

“Try not to overheat hair in the summer because that will dry it out and minimize moisture which will cause frizz,” Mena said.

Additional tips:
During the hot summer months, Sprinkle suggests rocking any variation of a boho braid or messy ponytail. “It looks fresh and modern,” he said.

For chemically processed hair (i.e. color, perms, relaxers), the best product for the dry summer heat is Keratin Complex Kerabalm, Infusion and Glowtion Potion. “Hair should be treated like fabric.  If chemically treated, then you must treat it like a delicate fabric.  Wash gently and use hair protectants, which help with protecting during the harsh elements of the sun.”

For damaged hair, opt for Keratin Complex Timeless Shampoo and Timeless Color Care Masque. “Damaged hair needs to be treated like fine fabric.  I would use a regimen of nourishing products to replenish needed proteins an moisture,” Sprinkle said.
