Future of your field?

The future of ophthalmology looks promising, with continuous advancements in technology and surgical innovation that offer new hope for vision to those who have been living with lifelong blindness.

What is the biggest misconception about your field?

It is a common misconception that ophthalmologists only prescribe eyeglasses. In reality, we are highly skilled and surgically active medical professionals, often performing up to 50 surgeries per day!

Most requested procedures:

  • LASIK Surgery
  • Cataract Surgery
  • Blepharoplasty Eyelid Surgery
  • Dry Eye Treatment Surgeries

Surgical advancements you’re most excited about?

Emerging advancements in laser technology are transforming the field of ophthalmology, allowing for various treatments such as vision correction, dry eye management, and diabetic retinopathy control.

Most memorable patient reaction:

One of the most memorable moments of my career was when I performed cataract surgery on a Haitian immigrant who had been legally blind (able to perceive only hand movements in front of her face) for 20 years. After the surgery, she was overjoyed to find out that she could see 20/20, and tears streamed down her face. She exclaimed in Haitian Creole that she was finally able to perform daily tasks and enjoy her quality of life for the first time in years, just like she did in her youth!

New services you’re excited to offer:

At Arora Eye, we are proud to offer innovative dry eye treatments that use amniotic tissue derived from placental membranes. This cutting-edge approach stimulates the cornea’s natural stem cells and provides constant lubrication to the eyes, effectively curing dry eye syndrome. Our patients have experienced significant relief from symptoms like dryness, irritation, and blurred vision, and we continue to explore new technologies and treatments to improve their overall eye health and quality of life.
