Kate Moss is having a moment (I mean, obviously). The style icon is continuously adding to her impressive resume and shows no signs of slowing down from the launch of her new wellness brand, Cosmoss to stepping back onto the modeling scene with several appearances during Paris Fashion Week (including reviving her iconic runway walk) to being named Creative Director of Coca Cola. And now, the supermodel is serving as the face for Charlotte Tilbury’s new Studio 54-inspired holiday collection. Moss shares with Vogue all the secrets and inside tips on her beauty idols, the new campaign and more.
As a close, personal friend, Tilbury tapped Moss to represent her new campaign alongside actress Lily James, and models Twiggy and Jourdan Dunn. Moss tells Vogue about the first time she met the make-up artist, “We met in 1998 at my first Dazed shoot! Charlotte was booked for makeup. We’ve worked on countless covers, campaigns, runways, and red carpets over the years – and enjoyed more than a few parties together!” For this campaign, the girls channel their inner 70’s party personas with big hair and lots of shimmer, sequins, and shine.
When it comes to Moss’s all-time favorite beauty looks, she has a couple, “…hair up and a red lip is always a good look and very chic. Tousled hair with a smoky eye and nude lip is also another favorite. Charlotte created her Nude Kate lipstick for me – I take it everywhere,” she tells Vogue. Her beauty icons? Not only does she cite Anita Pallenberg and Suzie Cave who she looks up to when it comes to beauty, she also enlists them as “the coolest women on the planet,” (*internally dies of jealousy*).
Kate discusses all the details on her memorable 34th birthday party which was actually a Studio 54-themed party where she wore a dreamy star makeup look. She says, “Charlotte has done so many of my birthday looks over the years! Glam rock was the theme for my 34th birthday, and for that, Charlotte painted that gorgeous golden star-eye look on me! My look for that night was inspired by Marc Bolan and Chanel had sent me the navy blue tulle dress with gold stars. We both love the glamour of the seventies and the disco looks, so it was really fun to create Studio Tilbury for the Holiday campaign. [Plus], reimagine the glamour of the disco era using Charlotte’s new Holiday collection – lots of gorgeous colors, metallics, and sparkle. Charlotte created the most amazing eye look for me on set with her Hypnotising Pop Shots in Smokey Quartz and Cosmis Rocks. The look is a mix of shimmering blue, purples, and turquoise tones with a pearlescent silver shimmer– it’s the perfect pop of color for a holiday party.”
Her favorite holiday party look consists of “…a smokey eye and balancing a bold, dramatic eye with a nude lip.” When it comes to the real-life essentials, she always keeps in her going-out clutch she says, “I always have Charlotte’s Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk and Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer in my bag – plus an eyelash curler – so you can always leave the party looking as fresh as when you arrived!” Want eyes like the model herself? She let’s us in on the secret. “Charlotte taught me the most amazing trick with her new concealer; it’s literally like shapewear for the eyes and face – it gives you an instant eye-lift effect! Charlotte showed me how to apply it at the inner and outer corner of the eyes and blend upwards for a lifting effect. It’s changed my life!”
