In simplistic terms, our immune system is a network of our organs, white blood cells, proteins and chemicals. The system works to protect our bodies from “foreign invaders” that can make us sick, cause infection, and present diseases. Although our immune system can not be boosted, it can be optimized to work its best with the help of these Tips To Keep Your Immune System Healthy And Happy. In addition to the tips are what we love to call, fun facts. Here our Haute Beauty expert Dr. Deepa Verma enlightens us with not one but six.
1. Our immune system has a memory like no other. It remembers every single germ and microbe that our immune system has ever taken on. So if it reenters the body, our immune system will immediately fend off the microbe before it even has a slight chance of infecting your body. Pretty neat, huh?
2. The immune system is made up of the innate immune system and the adaptive immune system. The innate immune system is a defense system we are born with, whereas the adaptive one develops once exposed to microbes.
3. When your body temperature fluctuates and reaches the higher end of the scale, you might get a fever. Though we might believe this means we are experiencing an attack on our immune system, this is a sign that our immune system is functioning. When our body temperature rises, it is preparing to kill certain microbes.

4. Did you know that your immune system is not located in one centralized area? As previously mentioned, our organs, white blood cells, proteins, and chemicals make up our immune system. But, where are they located? Tonsils, lymph nodes, spleen, and other areas of the human body.
5. Are you burdened with annoying seasonal allergies? The continuous sneezing? The teary eyes? All allergic reactions from asthma to hives are symptoms of immune system overactivity.
6. Age brings on a load of changes in our bodies. More specifically, our immune systems become weaker, which is why as you get older, you risk falling ill.
