Are you tired of red spots on the face and body? Stubborn vessels around your nose? At Springhouse Dermatology, double-board certified dermatologist Dr. Margo Weishar uses the Excel V laser to treat a wide variety of skin concerns related to redness.
Whether you have blood vessels, overall redness, rosacea, leg veins, red scars, brown marks, angiomas, or port wine stains, the Excel V has a wide range of capabilities. It has quickly become one of the most popular treatments in our dermatology practice. Dr. Weishar explains how this precise and powerful technology eradicates blood vessels, reducing redness and pigmentation.
Where can the Excel V laser be used?
The Excel V laser can be used on any part of the body. It can be used to treat the harmless tiny red dots referred to as “cherry angiomas.” Cherry angiomas are the result of genetic inheritance and can appear anywhere on the body. The Excel V comfortably and quickly removes them.
What is the Excel V laser capable of treating?
The Excel V laser has many different applications! At Springhouse Dermatology, the treatment is used five to ten times a day. From tiny “spider” angiomas to large port-wine stain birthmarks, rosacea and more, almost everyone has some form of pigmentary or vascular condition that may be treated.
Can the Excel V laser be combined with other treatments?
The Excel V laser features an additional treatment called LaserGenesis, a popular no downtime solution to treat active acne, acne scars, or improve collagen and glow. At Springhouse Dermatology, LaserGenesis is combined with dermaplaning, a process that uses a blade to carefully remove the superficial layer of skin cells and fine hairs, which we call The Dermaglow. This is a wonderful way to leave the office with smooth and glowing skin.

Is the Excel V the best laser to treat redness or vessels?
There are several top lasers for treating vessels. including the Pulsed Dye Laser and IPL. IPL is a less powerful device that may need additional treatments to produce similar results and is not capable of treating the range of problems that the Excel V laser can handle.
Is the treatment painful? What is the downtime?
During the session, Dr. Weishar uses a device called a Zimmer cooler which blows cool air on the treatment area to make the treatment more comfortable. Patients do not need any other form of anesthesia when receiving treatment. In some cases, the treatment can cause swelling, which may last for several days.
The best way to determine if the treatment is right for you is by booking an in-person consultation. Springhouse Dermatology is often able to treat you during your initial consultation appointment. During your assessment, Dr. Weishar will review your expectations and needs, and create a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your skin goals!
