The Virtue RF is the world’s first radiofrequency device that gives a unique treatment for your skin issues. The system uses robotic precision delivery through 36 gold-coted needles. If properly prepped, the procedure is virtually painless. To learn more on the Virtue RF procedure, Haute Beauty expert Dr. Jeffrey Ayers covers five important facts on Virtue RF mirconeedling treatment.
1. Virtue RF is capable of treating more than fine lines and wrinkles.
The microneedling in the Virtue RF system stimulates collagen and elastin, which targets fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, it can also improve skin tone and texture while treating imperfections such as acne scars and stretch marks.
2. The pre-operative process is important to follow.
I would always suggest avoiding the sun for two to four weeks, Accutane, retinol, and self-tanning products. To have the best experience possible, have your physician prescribe a numbing cream to a compounding pharmacy. One common formulation is BLT 20/6/4%. You want to apply it generously to the areas to be treated and even to extend it beyond that area. For instance, if you are going to treat the face take the numbing cream into the hairline, below the jawline, and close to the ears.
Note: This is not makeup you are trying to blend in – it is “frosting” that you are applying generously. (but be careful and avoid getting it into the eyes)
The areas well covered are barely noticeable during the treatment. Areas not covered so well are a bit “spicy.” If you are prone to keloid scars, please consult with your physician prior to opting in with this procedure.
3. Three treatments are recommended.
The final results of the Virtue RF treatment is gradual and progressive. I typically recommend three treatments four to six weeks apart.

4. Be aware of common side effects.
Common side effects of Virtue RF include acne flair-ups, cold sores, redness, dryness, scaling, itching, bruising and scarring. The redness should resolve in a few days and mineral-based makeup can be applied two to three days after the procedure.
It is rare but if skin blisters appear, there is a risk of skin infection and you should consult with your physician as soon as possible.
5. Virtue RF should be included in your skincare regimen.
I selected this device because it is effective, it can safely treat a majority of skin types with little or no discomfort and has a very short downtime. This treatment not only restores skin to a more healthy appearance but it should also be a part of your routine skincare regimen to maintain a youthful glow.
