As we go out with the old and in with the new, it is important that we start the year off positively. Embarking on the new year calls for us to check in with not only our mind, body, and soul, but ultimately, a healthy lifestyle attitude. To find peace in our new year, new me mission, Haute Beauty sat down with Haute Beauty experts to hear what their top recommendations are. Here’s what they had to say:

Listen to your GUT! YES! Literally and figuratively. Trust your ‘gut’ in terms of doing what feels good and right mentally and physically in 2022. Your body, mind and skin will love you for that. Everything you ingest/put in your gut will reflect on your skin and in your mental state!
Give yourself some slack. Yes, think of your past and people or things that made you feel less than your best self. Forgive them and yourself. Release them and say: I love and accept myself and all my ‘mistakes’ were simply a great learning.
Releasing negative people, things and thoughts will relieve you from all negative energy and thoughts and you will see your life, body image, skin and mental health turn for the better. This will be the best mental and physical detox you will do!
The universe has your back. Even though I was trained in western medicine, I truly believe in the holistic approach to life and beauty. I believe in the energy of the universe and quantum entanglement. This means that when you think positive thoughts and want something good, good things and energy will come to you: mentally, physically and emotionally. In the time of COVID and many uncertainties, it is more than ever that we should trust in that bigger love and power and act from the positive energy from the universe around us and within us.
Wishing you all Happy, Healthy, Filled with Love and Positive Energy 2022!

We are all familiar with New Year’s Resolutions. Statistics show that over 90% of resolutions end up as failures. Yes, it sounds disappointing and disconcerting, but there are a few reasons why this unfortunately occurs. Mainly, this transpires because people set unrealistic goals. While it is exciting to create lofty goals to lose weight, quit smoking, eat healthier, make more money, we often try to jump over a river instead of wading in it and taking baby steps. To help my patients achieve their goals, I have come up with the FAR technique. This is the opposite of NEAR, which means Never Establish Absurd Resolutions. You have got to have humor in life. So, let’s talk more about FAR.
Flexibility. Do not be so rigid in your goals. After all, we are only human. Allow yourself some room to indulge, but also understand that getting back on track is crucial to achieving your end goals.
Accountability. Take ownership of your results, whether they are good or bad. You must claim success and failure equally because no one ever succeeded in life before being let down. This ensures you will learn the next time around and hopefully not repeat the same mistake.
Responsibility. I also interchange this with Reliability. One must embrace the fact that they have a duty or obligation to make positive changes in their life. If you do not own it, it will never become your responsibility to create a healthier and happier version of your existence.

Optimize your physical health. All of our hormones, vitamins, and micronutrients need to be optimized in order for our physical bodies to meet our everyday challenges in the 21st century. Our overall well-being including our cognitive and sexual health depends upon achieving optimal levels of all our hormones and vitamins to allow our cells to function properly for us. A personalized approach to optimizing our levels can produce phenomenal results!
Promote positivity and calmness. Our current and present mental state allows us to accomplish all of the many tasks that are required of us each day. Decreasing stress is important to maintain a constant level of high performance as well as to decrease overall inflammation within our bodies. We have many ways from meditation to exercise to reframing our thoughts to promote positivity in our lives and thus our overall health.
Importance of personal space. As our lives become busier, our personal time to rejuvenate ourselves decreases. Our personal passions and hobbies allow us to focus on boosting our creativity as well as our dreams and goals for a full-filled life. Sometimes, we have to realize that a busier schedule is not the answer to a more satisfying and well-deserving lifestyle. Our personal space allows us to emphasize our own personal vitality and health!

Second, start by getting inspired by people who already have healthy lives, write short-term goals and achieve them one by one. when you look at the bigger picture it is hard to focus on the steps you have to take.

The start of a new year is an exciting time that many people take advantage of to invite healthy changes into their lives. With all of the possible resolutions out there, it can be a challenge to find what goals might fit into your “new year, new me” attitude and it can be even more difficult to stay consistent with them. Having specific goals that are centered around a significant purpose and that are planned out with intent will aid in solidifying a healthy lifestyle in the new year and beyond.
- Exercise! Identifying a specific exercise-related goal and creating a plan to achieve it makes it much easier to stick with your resolution in the long run. Instead of setting a general resolution to lose weight or build muscle, choose a goal that can be measured. For example, for achieving and maintaining a “new year, new me” attitude as it relates to exercise, an alternative resolution to losing weight is determining to lose 15 pounds. This way, progress can be measured and tracked and it will encourage you to stick to your goals.
For those areas of unwanted fat that are stubborn and resistant to exercise and diet, Coolsculpting may be the solution you’re looking for. CoolSculpting is not a weight loss device or a treatment for obesity or being overweight. The ideal candidate for CoolSculpting is a patient who has reached their target weight but that still has specific bulges which need treatment. CoolSculpting uses patented cooling technology to deliver a targeted “freezing” treatment to specific areas of the body, affecting only the fat cells while leaving surrounding tissue and muscle unharmed. Coolsculpting is a noninvasive cosmetic procedure that can be used to help you achieve your New Year’s resolutions without any downtime.
- Eat foods that are nutritious maintain a balanced diet. Maintaining a well-balanced diet is important for a number of reasons. Not only are you providing your body with the nourishment needed to feel strong throughout the day, but the foods we eat make a difference in the look and feel of our skin, too. Diet largely impacts the levels of varying hormones in the body, and hormones regulate many of the natural processes that occur within the body. This means that the overall health and appearance of skin is, inevitably, closely related to hormone fluctuations that are influenced by diet. When we take a global approach to the health of our skin, diet should be one of the factors we take into account. Setting a New Year’s resolution to eat mindfully, limit processed foods, and consume plenty of fruits and veggies is something that anyone and everyone can benefit from. By making your food-related goals specific, they can become easier to stick to! You could try switching to a plant-based milk, or decide to make half of your plate at each meal consist of vegetables and fruits, or choose to opt for lean proteins instead of fatty meats. Your body (and skin) will thank you for making healthy food choices.
Eating meat with a high content of saturated fat could contribute to the formation of acne. This is because fattier cuts of meat are associated with high concentrations of insulin growth factor. Insulin growth factor stimulates the production of sex hormones (androgens) that trigger an upswing in sebum production and ultimately, the formation of acne. Swapping out a fatty piece of meat for a leaner cut can help reduce the impact on the skin. Chicken, fish, and turkey can be good alternatives for fatty meats and may help curb acne breakouts.
- Throughout the year I’m busy taking care of my patients so that they look and feel like the best versions of themselves. Often, so much time is spent working in the office that I procrastinate spending time on the things that help me to look and feel my best, too. This year, one of the resolutions that I’m setting is to stop procrastinating! This resolution is one that can be applied to all areas of life, including self care, skincare, and wellness. Planning out cosmetic treatments that will target specific concerns is one way to stay confident and motivated throughout the year. Some of my favorite effortless and impactful cosmetic procedures include Thermage and Botox.
Thermage is a treatment that helps tighten and contour skin in a single session with no surgery, no injections, and no downtime. Thermage stimulates the body’s natural renewal process by inducing collagen production, generating a lifting and tightening and providing smoother, firmer skin. When it comes to addressing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and loose, sagging skin, Thermage is an excellent non-surgical option for both facial and body skin rejuvenation. Results from Thermage are typically seen 2-4 months after treatment and can last for up to two years, making it an excellent low-maintenance option for effortless and natural beauty.
Botox injections are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures to date. By taking a ‘less is more’ approach, beautiful, natural (not ‘frozen’) results can easily be achieved. Botox is the perfect treatment for quickly softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, providing a rejuvenated look. It’s become incredibly common to have preventative or ‘baby Botox’ injections in order to maintain an effortless youthfulness. Botox typically lasts up to four months and can be injected by a board-certified expert in just a few minutes, making it an ideal option for those who prefer low-maintenance treatments.
