Fillers, Botox, you name it. These injectables are the quickest answer to all of our fine lines and wrinkles but they do not last forever. Knowing that the time frame of these costly injectables is not very long, Haute Beauty sat down with Haute Beauty experts to find out the best ways to make any injectable last longer. Here is what they had to say:

While the effects of Botox and injectables are undeniable, most patients wish that they’d last longer than three-to-four months. The good news is that there are ways that you can extend the life of your Botox and enjoy smooth skin for up to six months. Here is how:
Engage facial muscles post-treatment. Immediately after Botox injections, you should take care to move muscles in the treatment area. This facilitates even distribution of the product, which can prolong Botox results.
Avoid rubbing your face for 24-48 hours after Botox injections. While facial expressions and movement are encouraged, patients should keep their hands and harsh products away from their faces post-treatment.
Limit sun exposure and photodamage sun protection is a useful tip for how to make Botox last longer and maintain healthy skin. Sun damage is one of the most preventable causes of wrinkles and early signs of aging.
Seek a skilled injector like Dr. Shah Vira. You’ve probably heard the saying that it’s the injector and not the injectable, in this case, Botox, that determines results. To achieve natural and long-lasting wrinkle reduction, it is essential that you select a highly qualified provider like Dr. Shah Vira, who has the expertise and skill to customize dosing and product placement to each individual.

As for the things that help injectables last longer, they include higher doses. Dysport may last longer. Your injector should also be aware of the best area to place the product. We gently inject onto the periosteum (or bone) in the upper forehead. Studies indicate that this will extend the life of your product there and ensure that it doesn’t easily come out of your skin.
Try to not move treated muscles and avoid activities that increase heart rate for 24-48 hours post-treatment. Another hint is to use hyaluronic acid in lines to plump up the skin and prevent new lines when the muscles start to wake up.

There are a few things you can do to ensure you get the most out of your injectables. To learn more, check out what Dr. Sholar had to say in This 3 Step Hack Can Make Your Injectables Last Longer.
Choose the right medical provider. The quality of your filler results can only be as good as your provider is educated and experienced. Choose a provider based on professional training, experience, reputation and other important credentials. An experienced, skilled physician may cost you more upfront, but it will pay for itself in results you love and less frequent touch-up visits.
Make a plan and be consistent with maintenance. It is important to note that no injectable treatment will last forever, and some types and brands of filler will last longer than others. Work with your filler physician to create a maintenance plan that will help you maximize your results and find a schedule that works well for you.
Take your vitamins. Zinc, particularly when combined with phytase enzyme, is known as a “Botox booster” based on some studies, extending the effects of botulinum toxin injections up to 30 percent. Vitamin C is absolutely essential for the synthesis of collagen. Vitamin C is the essential cofactor for the two enzymes required for collagen synthesis, which stabilize the collagen molecule give structural strength by cross-linking.

There are several measures to be sure our neuromodulators or fillers last longer both as the patient and doctor. Details regarding Dr. Ayers’s process can be found in The Longevity Of Your Fillers Lies In The Hands Of An Expert. As a patient, you can do what seems obvious to most, which includes:
1. Limiting sun exposure and wearing appropriate sunscreen containing zinc or titanium for physical protection.
2. Maintaining or improving your skin with high-quality skincare products. It’s harder to improve appearances with injectables if the skin is poorly cared for.
