Chat With Haute Beauty Leaders, Episode 8: Dr. Deepa Verma

Wellness September 10, 2021 By Gabriel Pessoa

As Haute Beauty continues its “Chat with Haute Beauty Leaders” series, Haute Media Group Co-founder Seth Semilof hosted a discussion with Dr. Deepa Verma, a representative of the Haute beauty Network in the Tampa/St. Petersburg market.

The conversation ranged in topics from Dr. Verma’s early tennis dreams, to being elected Chief Resident, as well as opening your own practice in Florida.

Dr. Deepa Verma is double board-certified in family medicine and integrative holistic medicine. She graduated magna cum laude from The College of NJ and is a graduate of Rutgers Medical School in New Jersey (formerly known as Robert Wood Johnson Medical School). Dr. Verma completed her family medicine residency at Somerset Medical Center and was elected chief resident. She founded Synergistiq Integrative Health, her private practice, in 2013, during a very challenging time in her life.

Recently, she has expanded and created Continuum, an offspring of Synergistiq. Services include IV therapy, bioidentical hormones, exosomes, peptides, gut health, weight loss, detox, aesthetics, medical marijuana, and more.

Here are some of the highlights from their conversation:

Seth Semilof: You did your residency at Somerset Medical Center and eventually were elected Chief Resident. Tell us a little bit about that.

Dr. Deepa Verma: In my third year I was voted Chief Resident, which was an honor. You’re basically in charge of everyone under you in terms of scheduling, listening to their issues and problems, just being very authoritative in a good way.

SS: Fast-forward to 2013, you decided to open up your own practice. What was your reasoning for that? How was that process?

DDV: At the time I decided to create Synergistiq Health, I was going through a very difficult period in my life. I was getting divorced unexpectedly and my dad passed away and that’s what truly triggered me to create this, my baby, which I call Synergistiq.

SS: When you started up Synergistiq Integrative Health, how was the process of getting clients? Did you go through some growing pains?

DDV: You won’t believe it but my first six to seven years, I did not spend any money on marketing. I don’t know really but things just snowballed, I suppose through word oof mouth. People were happy with what they were receiving in terms of care and treatment and it just grew. Eventually, I would be approached by the news for news pieces and I began blogging and then one thing led to another.
