Given all the recent hype surrounding the movie adaption of the Broadway musical In the Heights, you’re most likely familiar with the film’s lead actor Anthony Ramos. Perhaps you’ve already observed his talented performances in the mega-musical Hamilton or award-winning movie A Star is Born, but did you know this 29-year-old actor is also ripped?
However, this wasn’t the case for Ramos last year during lockdown when he couldn’t work on-set or in the studio. “I was just looking at myself in the mirror-like, dang, bro, you’re looking scrawny,” he told Men’s Health. “I was like, I should probably get back at it, it’s been years.” To get back in shape, Ramos enlisted trainer Corey Harbison, and the two worked together virtually throughout the pandemic. Undoubtedly, this partnership paid off for the actor.

Ramos’ workout targets the core, which has built his foundational strength to help him power through his career and life. “Fitness has become a big part of my life… in the line of work that I do, you’ve got to be on sets, it’s long hours, sometimes you’ve got to do stunts—you’ve got to do all kinds of physical things,” he said. “Staying in shape really helps with even just getting up in the morning and feeling better.”
