Chin liposuction or double chin surgery is the plastic surgery procedure that permanently removes the excess of fat under the chin (“double chin”) to achieve a youthful and chiseled neck contour.
HB: What are the benefits of chin liposuction?
It is the quickest and permanent way to remove the double chin. The results are long-lasting. Chin liposuction is more effective than other minimally invasive procedures like Kybella injections or CoolSculpting in eliminating the double chin.
HB: What is the procedure like?
The procedure is short. It usually takes under an hour to be performed. It is usually performed under general anesthesia, IV sedation, or local anesthesia. I prefer to perform the procedure under local anesthesia because of the benefits that it brings to the patient, including faster recovery.

Someone is a good candidate for chin liposuction if he/she has an excess of fat underneath the chin or submental area (double chin) and has good skin elasticity. He or she also should have a good health condition.
HB: What is the recovery like?
The recovery is straightforward: it is associated with minimal discomfort, mild swelling, and some minor bruising. The patients must wear a neck compression garment for several days, depending on the plastic surgeon’s protocol. The results of chin liposuction start being seen as early as one-week post-op.
