Dr. Jeffrey Lee | Breast Expert | Boston

Spring is typically a time where people look forward to the summer. As a result, breast and body procedures become very popular as people want to get beach-body ready. Procedures like breast augmentation, breast lift surgery, tummy tuck, and liposuction are among the most popular. As the pandemic hit us around the same time last year, these procedures came to a grinding halt as elective procedures were put on hold through the summer. This year, however, people seem to be hopeful of a somewhat normal summer and so I am already seeing an increase in breast and body procedures. Like so many people, I am really hopeful that the vaccination of the general public will help us as a society get back on track as soon as possible. We might all still have to wear masks at the beach, but people still want to feel good about their bodies in a bathing suit. The other factor that has made it so much harder for people is the weight gain that has been associated with this pandemic. Even the fittest people have put on a few pounds and most find it nearly impossible to work out in a mask.

The really interesting thing about this year is that there is a real pent-up demand for these procedures and the typical post-winter surge happened in the middle of winter this year. If you are interested in having something done this spring, my advice is to book your consultation now. You definitely do not want to get left behind!

Dr. Christine Bishara | Wellness Expert | New York

My most popular treatment in the spring is my facial rejuvenation and tightening procedure using the Morpheus 8 device.

Similar to a micro-needling pen, the Morpheus 8 Micro-needling/radiofrequency device creates micro-injuries in the skin that stimulate collagen production. Morpheus 8 can penetrate up to 4 mm below the dermis, compared to only 1mm with micro-needling pens. Combined with radiofrequency which exerts heat deep in the tissue and causes even more skin remodeling, i’s honestly the most powerful tool you can use for skin tightening and rejuvenation without going under the knife.

The spring is a great time to do this procedure since it also helps with hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure in the summer. Additionally, because the downtime is minimal and usually less than 24 hours, it’s a great procedure to do before summer to achieve glowing skin.

Dr. Karan Chopra | Body & Face Expert | Minnesota

My practice continues to experience a surge of younger patients seeking a well-rested appearance through upper and lower eyelid surgeries in Spring 2021. Baggy or droopy upper eyelids and undereye bags or puffiness create a sleepy appearance. My novel technique carefully approaches the delicate eyelid area with the scarless removal of excess skin. In just an hour, the patient achieves a revitalized look that brightens up the entire face.

Dr. S. Alexander Earle | Body Expert | Miami/Fort Lauderdale

As we enter the spring months, Pure Plastic Surgery has seen an upward trend in body procedures requests. Our top three requested procedures are the Brazillian Butt Lift, Miami Makeover, and Mommy Makeover.

The Miami Makeover consists of a breast augmentation or breast lift and 180 liposuction. The Mommy Makeover is the same as the Miami Makeover, except it includes an additional procedure: abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). The Brazillian Butt Lift is a popular procedure where fat is transferred from other areas of the body and then put back into the tissue of the buttocks to enhance the area. We see an uptick in body procedure requests because the general population is tired of staying cooped up and hidden. They want to come out of this pandemic looking their best for their new body debut.

Dr. Shwetambara Parakh | Body Expert | New Jersey

I often joke that plastic surgery is somewhat of a seasonal business with spring being the busiest season of the year! My schedule is typically packed with breast and bodywork and getting patients ready for the swimsuit season. Summer is approaching fast! My most requested procedures at this time are abdominoplasty, mommy makeovers, liposuction and breast lift, and enhancement. Minimally invasive Radiofrequency skin tightening is also popular for those pesky areas with mild skin laxity. These are done under local anesthesia in the office with quick recovery. This is also a popular time for patients to jumpstart non-invasive muscle building with EMsculpt and fat destruction with CoolSculpting.
