As we ring in the new year, and everyone is abuzz with their new year’s resolutions, we caught up with the Haute Beauty experts to learn more about their personal goals for 2021. Here’s what they had to say:

Dr. Jason Bloom | face expert | Pennsylvania

On a family level, my resolution is to spend more family time enjoying the outdoors. While we aren’t traveling as much as previous, we need to spend time together exploring the areas around our home together.

On a professional level, my goals are to continue to work hard to produce results that patients expect from me and my practice and promote and grow my associate, aestheticians and nurse. Lastly, I will remain humble for everything that I have worked for, especially this year, given the difficult times that many are going through and thankful for the continued health of myself and my family.

Dr. Jason D. He is dedicated to the treatment of patients with both cosmetic concerns and reconstructive problems of the head and neck.

Dr. John Mesa | face expert | New York

My first New Year Resolution is related to the Pandemic. Since the Covid pandemic has affected the global economy in all the areas, my business new year resolution is to work very hard this 2021 so my plastic surgery practice grows steadily, beats the economical limitations of the pandemic, and becomes one of the most productive years of my career. To achieve that I am implementing multiple changes in my practice (staffing, patient satisfaction, marketing etc.) so I can achieve my goal during these challenging pandemic times.

From a personal health standpoint, another New Year’s resolution is to continue adhering to a vegan diet that I started during the pandemic-lockdown. I noticed that my physique and energy level improved dramatically when I stopped eating animal protein and dairy and switched to a plant-based diet.

Dr. Viraj Mehta | Eyelid Surgery Expert, Oculoplastic | Maryland

2020 was a challenging year in every aspect, from business to personal. I think the most challenging aspect of 2020 was the social isolation. Our first lockdowns began in March 2020, and since then we have all been required to socially distance ourselves from everyone while the pandemic raged on. Virtual meetings and hangouts offered some means to connect, but it’s not the same as giving hugs or shaking hands. It was very easy to disconnect and drawback from friends and family. With vaccines finally being delivered and the prospects of normalcy on the horizon, I want to use 2021 to reconnect with people. I am excited to see entire faces not hidden by masks. I want to set up playdates for my daughter, go out for brunch, meet up in person with friends, and enjoy the vibrancy and culture that Washington, DC typically offers. Most importantly, I want to see family who live in various cities across the country. For this New Year, my resolution is to reconnect.

Viraj J. Mehta, MD, MBA is an Oculofacial Plastics and Orbit expert, who serves a local and an international community at his practice near Washington, D.C.
