What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement has been implementing a system that helps my patients enhance their oral health in a fundamentally comprehensive level. The relationship between the occlusion (bite), Periodontal health, tooth wear, dental caries, TMJ and myofascial pain and sleep apnea, all under a single diagnosis and treatment planning in a holistic manner.
What is the future of your field?
The future of dentistry is going towards more preventative approaches. The standard of care, dental materials and medical devices as well as biomedical engineering are advancing in a very rapid way and what we do today in dentistry is completely different from even 10 years ago. The future dentists understands regeneration and reconstruction and is minimally invasive. Also, the future dentist is an integral part of the medical team that take care of the patients in a holistic and multi-disciplinary way.
What is the biggest misconception about your field?
That dental health is separated from medical health. Advances in science shows over and over that Periodontal health is extremely important and periodontal disease can cause systemic diseases such as diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer’s etc. Also, bite and teeth are responsible for Myofascial pain, headaches, migraines etc. And oral appliances can treat many patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea which is a very important health concern as well. In our practice, I work closely with Neurologists, internal medicine doctors, physical therapists etc. on mutual patients.
What are your most requested procedures?
Smile Makeover, LANAP Laser gum surgery, All on Four, Botox for TMJ, Invisalign.
What surgical advancements are you most excited about?
Digital dentistry and digital smile makeovers, on one hand, Live guided implant surgeries on the other hand as well as LASER and ultrasonic-assisted surgeries are the areas that I’m very excited and passionate about.
What are you best known for?
cosmetic dentistry such as Smile makeover, LASER gum surgery (LANAP), TMJ and myofascial pain treatment with Botox.
What is your most memorable patient reaction?
I’ve had many, but the most life-changing ones for the patients are the ones that you give them a new smile and they start smiling all the time after having to hide their smile for many years because they didn’t like it.
What sets your practice apart?
Comprehensive dentistry is what truly sets us apart. Understanding the underlying cause of each condition instead of just addressing the symptoms. Understanding the relationship between the different parts of oral health and how to combine them into a single diagnosis and treatment plan. We diagnose fundamentally differently from traditional dentists. Also, we’re extremely advanced in technology with CT scan, LASERs, CAD-CAM, 3D printing, Intra Oral scanners, ultrasonics and other cutting-edge technologies. We also have a multi-specialty approach and work on patients in a team.
What do you love most about your profession?
Giving beautiful smiles to patients and reversing the aging process of the teeth in one hand and treating their gums and periodontal health and making sure that their oral health is optimized are the most important parts of my profession that I love.
What is your career-defining procedure?
