The no scar lower eyelid surgery gives patients a refreshed and vibrant look. Often patients request blepharoplasty or an eyelift because they feel tired and take on a weary appearance no matter how much rest they seem to have. The best candidates for the procedure are those with droopy upper eyelids or with under-eye bags. In addition, blepharoplasty corrects droopy eyelids that may also impair vision. Dr. Michael Omidi has perfected the no scar eyelid surgery. The procedure is made up of two components, the first being transconjunctival blepharoplasty or the elimination of fatty tissue the second part of the procedure entails the use of a Co2 Fraxel in order to tighten the loose skin. This procedure is minimally invasive, compared to others due to the use of the Co2 Fraxel laser. This method allows the doctor to create an ageless look without creating scars around the eyes. The combination of the two methods has also led to an enormity of positive reviews about the procedure.
To prepare patients for the procedure Dr. Omidi walks his patients through the pre and post-operation instructions. Dr. Omidi will instruct you to refrain from smoking and avoid certain medications that may increase the risk of bleeding and exacerbate the healing process. It is crucial to be completely honest during the consultation so that Dr. Omidi can obtain information about your prior medical conditions or drug allergies. Even though there is a rigorous line of questioning before the surgery the procedure is quite short despite its little complexities.
The procedure can last anywhere from one to three hours. Dr. Omidi carefully begins the procedure by marking the individual lines and creases of the lids in upper lid surgery to keep the scars as invisible as possible along these natural folds. Fine sutures are used to close the incisions, thereby minimizing the visibility of any scar. In lower eyelid surgery, Dr. Omidi chooses an inconspicuous site along the lash line and smile creases of the lower lid to make the incision.
Excess fat, muscle, and skin are then trimmed away before the incision is closed with fine sutures. Eyelid puffiness caused primarily by excess fat may be corrected by a transconjunctival blepharoplasty. The incision, in this case, is made inside the lower eyelid, and excess fatty material is removed. Dr. Omidi makes sure that, when sutures are used to close this kind of incision, they are invisible to the eye. They are also self-dissolving and leave no visible scar. Relying on the latest state-of-the-art technology, Dr. Omidi will combine the eyelid surgery with laser treatment to enhance results and ensure younger and healthier appearance.

After the procedure is complete the doctor will instruct the patient on how to implement the best possible postoperative care. Dr. Omidi will have his patients use of ice packs, eye drops, or small gauze pads. While a certain degree of swelling and bruising may appear immediately after the procedure, it is considered normal and can be alleviated with the aid of cold compresses and head elevation with the patient lying down. During the first two weeks of recovery, you should refrain from using makeup and wear dark sunglasses to protect your scars from direct sunlight. Throughout the recovery process Dr. Omidi and his staff will regularly check up on your healing to ensure that you are progressing comfortably through the process. Most patients are able to resume their normal routines just a week after the procedure.
