HB: What is Botox?
Botox is an injection of fluid that is absorbed by the nerves in the area where it is injected. When injected it blocks the nerves from releasing a signal to the muscle, called acetylcholine preventing muscle contraction and also preventing sweating. These effects last 3-5. months.
HB: Who is the best candidate for this treatment?
Anyone who is interested in relaxing the muscles of facial expression especially in the upper face to prevent wrinkles. Also, help lift the brows and it is great for a condition called hyperhydrosis in which patients sweat excessively in the hands, feet, and armpits. They are able to do a few injections in these areas and stop the sweating for 5-6 months sometimes longer.

HB: How does this treatment compare to others of the same nature?
Currently, there are different brands on the market that do the same thing as botox – they are called dysport, xeomin, and Juveau. These work the same have same mechanism of action.
HB: What does recovery look like?
There is absolutely NO recovery time. However it does take a few days to a few weeks before results are noticeable.
