What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is an amazing non-invasive body contouring treatment which utilizes a process known as cryoliposis to freeze fat cells in the treated area. We have been performing CoolSculpting in our office for over ten years with fantastic results. The patient is comfortably positioned on the treatment table and a gel pad is placed over the treatment area; the applicator is positioned over the gel pad and secured. The fat cells are destroyed by the cooling process and absorbed by the body. This non-invasive treatment is FDA approved to treat nine different areas on the body such as the submental area (under the chin), bra fat, upper arms, abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, “banana roll” under the buttocks, and the fat above the knees.

Why do you prefer CoolSculpting over other methods of body contouring?

Many of the body contouring devices on the market are new and while they show some positive results there isn’t much data to show actual real long-term benefits. Coolsculpting has been proven to be the leader in non-invasive body contouring for over ten years and treats as much as twenty-five percent of fat in any given area with no downtime. Coolsculpting provides much greater fat reduction than any other device currently on the market with the best cosmetic results. With over ten years of proven track record of success, it is the number one most popular noninvasive fat removal treatment on the market.

Who is a good candidate?

The best CoolSculpting candidate is anyone with a little bulge who is within twenty pounds of their ideal weight that diet and exercise won’t eliminate. These patients should be committed to a healthy lifestyle.

How does CoolSculpting work?

Coolsculpting is a non-invasive procedure with no downtime. You can have your treatment and return to normal daily activities immediately after the procedure. The length of your appointment is based upon the area being treated. Treatment can be done in as little as thirty-five minutes to one hour per area, depending upon the area being treated. The outer thighs take one hour for each side as opposed to the flanks which take thirty-five minutes for each side.

Based upon the area being treated, there may be a cold feeling and a numbing sensation for the first five minutes of the treatment as you get used to the freezing. At the end of the treatment your technician will massage the treated area for five minutes as the treated area is being treated warmed up.

What does recovery look like?

Results are not immediate. Results can be seen approximately three to four months after the treatment. With each area treated, approximately 25 percent improvement will be noted. If there is a larger bulge, we encourage repeat treatment one month apart. Coolsculpting is a fabulous cosmetic procedure which can be combined with Velashape to treat cellulite, giving the best body sculpting results.
