Meet The Lip Guru of Virginia Beach

News September 10, 2019 By Sarah Head

For much of his career, Dr. Fouad Georges Kaado has spent years studying and practicing in the fields of aesthetics and dermatology with the pioneers in the field of plastic surgery, dermatology and anti-aging medicine. Moreover, having trained in primary and urgent care, while working in the most progressive locales in the world of aesthetic expertise: places such as Miami, London, Paris and Venezuela, Dr. Kaado has expanded his knowledge, sharpened his skills and perfected his keen eye for exquisite detail. In an endless quest for knowledge, Dr. Kaado regularly attends conferences worldwide to learn the latest in anti-aging and cosmetic medicine. It’s not only the clinical aspect that interests the doctor. His goal is to use medicine to create art. He sees the beauty in every person he meets. It is a testament to his skills that Dr. Kaado’s clients include high-level executives, beauty editors, models, and people from all walks of life who just want to look and feel better. His popularity is due to his medical skills as well as his warm personality. Here, Dr. Kaado dishes to Haute Beauty about his greatest achievement, surgical advancements and what he loves most about his job.

My greatest achievement…

I’ve been able to build a solo cosmetic practice in a very competitive market, committed to the highest level of excellence, as well as I’ve built a line of luxury comprehensive skincare and perfected skin rejuvenating treatments and body contouring procedures. My practice is extremely perfected because to me attention to detail is very important, I even chose the containers to put the brochures in because I disked plastic holders, and it took time to find the right things. My emphasis is to provide 5-star service and to cater to our clients’ every need. My practice sets the bar high by offering the latest cutting edge and the most advanced treatments. I am the first social media doc in the area and nobody used to do Facebook and Instagram lives, so I started a trend. By watching our social media clients know me even before meeting me. I wanted to show them the real me. We do lots of lives on social media this way you can see real results not a filtered version of them. I’ve perfected combining multiple treatment modalities along with skincare to achieve the desired aesthetic outcome and to preserve youth and vibrancy. I believe it is a testament to my skills and cutting edge treatments that many patients including beauty editors and models fly in from all over the world to see me as patients. I view aesthetic medicine as an art, it is like sculpting for me, and it is a must to have an innate critical eye, as well as skills, artistry and well-rounded knowledge of modern technology to succeed in this field. I take pride in my work and strive to create beauty and achieve a delicate balance and results that are natural. Kaado MD provides breakthrough age-defying, tightening and brightening medical treatments inducing exclusive facials. We Customize all treatments for every patient, nothing is cookie cutter.

The biggest misconception in my field is…

That everybody will end up looking overly done. For me, it’s all about proportions. Big lips can work on some faces but not others. That’s why you have to have a keen eye. You have to be a skilled artist. Be passionate about your work. Also many believe that it takes one syringe or one treatment to get surgical results. I could write a book about this subject! Simply stated, I think the general social opinion about getting cosmetic treatments done (whether it be a little touch of filler or a full tummy tuck by a surgeon) is that it comes from a place of selfishness, malicious vanity and/ or from an overall narcissistic, very “fake” person. It is the reason why I receive numerous amounts of patients who conceal themselves for appointments, wait for their significant other to leave on a trip and insist on short healing timeframes in order to avoid the detection of receiving any treatment at all. But the people I meet couldn’t be the furthest from selfish or narcissistic and are definitely not mean-spirited. These are people who look in the mirror and want to improve what is looking back at them because of the way it makes them feel. We are human beings and it is our condition to want to look good to feel good. It is not selfish to want to feel good about the way you present yourself to the world. That is your choice and you should be unapologetic about it. It saddens me that it is looked down upon because I love seeing the happiness and strength that develops in my patients as their aesthetic changes them into these confident, powerhouse human beings.

Most requested procedure…

Lips, lips and more lips! I am nicknamed the ‘lip guru,’ after all. Tear troughs are quite popular as well, as well as: non-surgical BBL with Sculptra or Kaado MD exclusive Bodytite for butt sculpting, correction of botched procedures, Fractora for skin tightening, scarring, and skin texture improvement, and body contouring.

Surgical advancements

Skin tightening procedures like Morpheus 8, Fractora, which I am obsessed with this because I’ve been using it for years with phenomenal results, Bodytite and facetite. We can do brachioplasty and tummy tucks now without having the scars associated with surgeries. It internally and externally shrinks the skin and melts the fat. It is not a specific surgical advancement that gets me excited, but rather the merging of invasive and non-invasive procedures. Typically, it was thought that you had to choose between surgical or nonsurgical. On its own, a surgical procedure can provide a patient with a good outcome and separately, a non-surgical procedure can provide a patient with a good outcome. But what could they accomplish together? Synergistically, they can give the patient an absolutely fabulous result in the end. To give you an example, let’s say a patient chooses to receive minimally invasive liposuction to the abdomen from myself or traditional liposuction from another surgeon. Their road to a flat tummy shouldn’t end there. After the healing process, a series of radio-frequency driven treatments to the skin has been proven to even-out and smooth the skin. These would be imperative to a superior result because the surgical procedure alone could cause undesirable skin texture. Hence, the relationship that has recently been developing between surgical and nonsurgical to give patients the best outcome has me very excited for the future.

I am best known for…

I am nicknamed the ‘lip guru’ because I am most known for my injectable work specially on lips. There is always an added sense of excitement when I see potential clients for a lip filler consultation. I am also known for non-surgical BBL, injectables especially for facial slimming and chin augmentation. I correct botched procedures and perform hair restoration. Kaado MD is home to special techniques for skin tightening using customized products and exclusive techniques with BodyTite.

Favorite patient reaction…

When I get hugs from a patient and see patients crying because they are so happy with the results, whether it’s fixing a botched procedure or creating a jawline or chin for people that have spent years with low self-confidence due to their appearance. The results after treating acne scarring can also be very emotional for patients. After years of self-esteem issues, seeing their whole demeanor changing and uplifting their personality so they can shine is very gratifying. One of our patients had concerns with her lack of curves and was very self-conscious. Together, we decided on BodyTite to sculpt her physique. When she saw her results, she said, “I was Sponge Bob Square Pants, now I’m a model.” I loved how pleased she was with my work. Another patient’s grandchildren would laugh at, grab and pull with the excess skin under her arms. She had consultations with multiple physicians but the outcome was always a long scar after the procedure so she put it off. During her consultation with me, I found she was a great candidate for BodyTite. After the procedure her arms looked skinny yet sculpted because the sagging skin was gone and the best thing is that she had 2 negligible tiny scars. She later told me during her recent flu shot, the technician commented that she must work out a lot, but she’s never been to the gym in her life. I also have patients that fly in from other states. One patient came to me self-conscious about the lack of volume in her buttocks. I used Sculptra to give her the roundness and lift she was looking for. Since Sculptra’s results continually get better over a few months, she was thrilled and said, “I can’t believe how my butt keeps improving!”

What sets my practice apart?

What sets my practice apart from many others is the amount of time, energy and investment that goes behind the ambiance and set-up of my office space. It is no secret that our patients are receiving elective treatments not fiscally compensated for by insurance companies or other entities. Therefore, I believe it is important that the space in which I conduct my practice reflects that I appreciate that they have chosen to come to me. I want my office to be a place that you enjoy coming to and look forward to receiving treatments in time and time again. I take pride in the details, especially the fine details. I believe it translates to my patients that I will pay close attention to the fine details in their treatments. Every corner of my practice has been well thought out and executed so they can look forward to having every aesthetic issue addressed with the same enthusiasm and energy. I am proud to say I created a concierge aesthetic practice that caters to the needs of the most discerned customers using the best skincare, techniques and equipment from all over the world, in addition to the skincare line that I created. Not a lot of practices can say the same. I want treatments at Kaado MD to be a fun experience not nervewracking. Our patients are like family to us.

What I love the most about my profession?

What I love most about my profession are the transformations that I see in my patients. Their outward transformations are extremely satisfying, but it’s the changes in their confidence that I love the most. As their dissatisfaction improves, you can see the other changes, like they begin to walk a bit taller with a bit more swagger, they smile more often and talk about how happy they are with their appearance. Their happiness and confidence collectively become my muse. It is the exact thing I use as fuel to keep going and continue developing new ways to bring them effective and innovative treatments and techniques for their aesthetic goals. Staying ahead in my field is the best way for me to help someone’s self-esteem to let their inner beauty shine. There is always new technology coming out because my profession is constantly evolving. We have to stay up to date to best help the patients.

Describe a career-defining procedure…

I had a patient that needed to have abdominoplasty but no one would do the procedure due to specific circumstances. I, however, found she was a candidate for BodyTite. She could never wear a pair of jeans but after the procedure for the first time in her entire life, she was able to buy a pair of jeans that she was able to zip up. This was a hallmark moment for her and it solidified knowing this was exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
