Fat reduction and skin tightening, two treatments that no longer require a strenuous workout plan or invasive surgery. AccuTite, the new treatment used to tighten, tone and improve the skin, makes achieving summer time looks significantly easy this season. Board-certified Dr. Lucas Bryant sat down with Haute Beauty to discuss the popular new procedure, how it works, who qualifies, and which combined treatments create the best results.
What is AccuTite?
AccuTite is a really exciting precision fat reduction and skin tightening device. Treatments usually last 20-45 minutes and are often performed in the office under local anesthesia. I am happy to be one of the first practices to utilize the technology. Produced by InMode, it builds on the great success of their other popular treatments called BodyTite and FaceTite.
How does AccuTite work?
It uses temperature-controlled radiofrequency (RF) heat to tighten, tone, and improve the skin. It can also selectively reduce fat as well as tighten the soft tissue network beneath the skin. This means that it really works on toning the tissue and skin from the bottom up, instead of working from the outside like a laser would. By doing this, the recovery is faster, and you don’t have the skin redness and irritation like you would with laser treatments.
What does it treat?
AccuTite is a precision control skin and soft tissue tightening device and has been found to work well in the cheek, jawline, brow area, eyelids, and those pesky nasolabial folds. There are literally no incisions or scars, which is why it’s very popular among patients who are trying to get a fast recovery and avoid scar. Other areas it has been helpful in treating include the underarm bra fat, the pouching above the knees, upper arms and feminine rejuvenation as well.
Are the results as good as surgery?
No! Honesty is one of the most important aspects of my relationship with patients. There is not a single treatment that can get the same permanent, dramatic, and natural appearance as surgery. With that being said, surgery is typically more expensive and has a longer recovery time than less invasive treatments. That’s where AccuTite really shines.
The thing I really like about FaceTite and AccuTite and the EmbraceRF procedure with Morpheus8 is that they give a really nice result, they are consistent, and they are safe. Most non-surgical or minimally invasive treatments really struggle to hit all three of those things. In general, these treatments will get you about 40-50% of a really good surgical result, with no scarring, and a shorter downtime.
Is AccuTite done in combination with other treatments?
Yes, most patients have AccuTite as part of the EmbraceRF procedure. Just like a hug (embrace), this treatment combines the AccuTite treatment with their other really exciting treatment, Morpheus8. When done together, the patient can expect immediate results and continued improvement over the next 6 months.
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a one-of-a-kind subdermal radiofrequency microneedling treatment. Unlike regular microneedling, it treats the skin and the fat beneath the skin. The technical term is “subdermal adipose remodeling device”, or SARD. By going deeper than traditional treatments, it has a faster recovery so you can avoid the bruising and redness you would expect from regular microneedling or laser treatments.
Who is a good candidate for EmbraceRF with FaceTite or AccuTite?
Most patients that really benefit from these treatments are in their 30’s to 50’s. They notice areas they would like to tighten, lift, and tone. Because the recovery time is much faster than surgery, it works well for working professionals who may not be able to afford the downtime that’s needed for a surgical treatment. It also works well on patients that don’t need surgery yet but are still bothered by their tissue sagging. Morpheus8 can be used alone to improve overall skin quality, or to treat acne. Since it acts from the deep surface of the skin, it can be used on all skin types and skin tones!
How long does a treatment last?
AccuTite and the combined EmbraceRF treatments are designed to be single treatments. I usually say that the treatment is essentially permanent. Patients will continue to go through the aging process but will do so more gracefully over the following years.
How do patients learn more? Interested patients usually see me for either an in-person consult and exam, or by video consultation if they are from out of town. Making sure the right treatment is used to treat the right problem helps ensure a happy patient afterward!
