Dr. Miguel Mascaró, founder of the Delray Beach Hair Transplant Center in Delray Beach, Florida may be a dual board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon—and a hair-restoration expert—but he still makes the time to squeeze in self-care. From regular sweat sessions to professional skincare treatment (with smoothies in between), check out his health-minded haunts.
Fitness…
“I work out at Equinox in Coral Gables. The location is beautiful, the trainers are top-notch and the facility and its amenities are second to none. The hours are perfect for my work schedule, it’s very close to my house which makes it easier for me to get there regularly.”
Grooming…
“I get my hair cut at the One Aveda Salon in Delray Beach because I feel comfortable there. I usually try a different style every few months and I always know they will do an outstanding job—and help me look professional yet modern.”
Healthy snacks…
“Jamba Juice is my go-to for a quick and easy mid-day boost—and they deliver to my office which is great. I order from there at least twice a week, and the Orange Carrot Karma Smoothie and Nutty Almond Butter Bowl are my favorites.”
In-office treatment…
“I love the HydraFacial because there’s no better way to deep-clean your skin. It helps clear all the dirt, oil and debris out of your pores (and if you’re into gross stuff you can even see it all in the canister after your treatment). It also bathes your skin in salicylic and glycolic acids for exfoliation (but our aesthetician Jennifer customizes each treatment for the client’s skin type). It only takes 20 to 30 minutes, and it leaves my skin looking healthy and radiant. I get one every six weeks or so.”
Favorite skincare products…
“SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic and Retinol 0.3 are tied for my favorites, and I use them religiously. Together they boost skin turnover and naturally exfoliate while improving fine lines and texture. My skin has a tendency to be finicky, but it tolerates these products very well.”
