My greatest achievement…
I’m having difficulty with this question as I feel the best is yet to come. How do you answer this and still remain humble. I would like to think I am a great son, brother, friend, and doctor. If those can be considered accomplishments then that would be my answer.
The future of my field is…
The word “plastic” from plastic surgery comes from the Greek and literally means to change. Plastic surgery is constantly evolving in form, function, and safety. I believe that in years to come we will be able to achieve better results in all areas with less invasive means as a result of better instrumentation and technology.
The biggest misconception about my field is…
Most people think all of plastic surgery is superficial and prays on peoples insecurities, I completely disagree with this notion. The role of the doctor in every field is to make people feel better. Plastic surgery does this on so many levels. If someone has suffered their whole life from a birth deformity such a cleft lip or something as minor as having smaller breasts, plastic surgery corrects this and makes them feel better. We don’t pray on insecurity, we alleviate it.
My most requested procedures are…
Breast augmentation and blepharoplasty.
What surgical advancements are you most excited about?
Looking forward to the day when a breast implant is developed that can change size when it is already implanted.
What are you best known for?
I hope the answer to this is being kind! As far as procedures go I would have to say breast augmentation
What is your most memorable patient reaction?
I had a patient that had something called tuberous breast deformity. She had never shown anyone her breasts. When I called her postoperatively she was crying. I became extremely concerned as this is not a particularly painful procedure. She then explained to me that I changed her life. She was crying because of how happy she was and quietly literally had shown her husband her bare chest for the first time after 6 years of marriage.
What sets my practice apart is…
I believe two things set my practice apart. One is that I am always very cognizant of patients time. I don’t keep people waiting, your time is as valuable as mine. The second thing is empathy. I would like to think that myself and my whole staff treat everyone with a level of kindness and understanding that is second to none. I want every patient to feel as if they are my only patient.
What I love most about my profession is…
The positive change we can make in someone’s life.
Career defining procedure?
Breast augmentation.
What new services are you excited to offer?
With the progress of noninvasive techniques such as the venus system of body contouring and skin tightening, The injectable products from Allergan, Merz, and Galderma, our ability to enhance one’s appearance without the need for the operating room and anesthesia had become quite remarkable.
