In the heat of summer, two prominent ladies, albeit hailing from the opposing ends of the celebrity spectrum, showed off their newly sheared short tresses.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and model Bella Hadid chopped off their manes to a length that grazes their shoulders, Vogue reported.
While Hadid debuted her bob haircut at the 2017 Met Gala, Middleton, conscious of stern royal protocols, trimmed her thick, shiny hair gradually – not to create unnecessary tabloid furor.
Now, Middleton’s haircut reaches her collar bone, revealing subtle layers that gently bounce with every movement. Hadid, on the other hand, exhibited more chutzpah in trimming her hair, reducing it to a chin-brushing, layered do.
Middleton and Hadid seem to usher in a mid-summer revival of the bob, infusing it with their own aesthetic preferences. Hadid’s style reflects the beauty cannons of the ‘90s, a decade she does not hide her obsession with. Meanwhile, Middleton’s chop is conservatively British, a reflection of her role as a wife, mother and royalty.
One thing, however, untied Haddid and Middleton’s haircuts – straight or wavy, they simply look gorgeous.
