The Ole Henriksen Power Peel is popular treatment at the Ole Henriksen skin clinic. The at-home microdermabrasion and acid peel system promises to reducing fine lines, smoothing skin texture, evening skin tone and discoloration, and minimizing pores in three steps. Step 1 is the Almond Polish Facial Scrub, which exfoliates your skin with almond paste, oat kernel flour, bamboo stem powder and honey. Step 2 is the Lemon Strip Peel, which peels and refines with lactic, glycolic and fruit acids, licorice and algae extract. Lastly, step 3 is the Chamomile Comfort Mask and it soothes and calms with chamomile, evening primrose oil, and jojoba seed oil.
While the power peel tingled a tad bit more than expected, it felt refreshingly invigorating. It did not burn, but left your skin ready take on the free radicals floating around the toxic and polluted New York air. After just one application friends were in awe how silky our skin appeared.
Microdelivery Resurfacing Peel: $40
Perfect for sun damage, the Microdelivery Resurfacing Peel features vitamin c/peptide crystals, which help remove dead skin cells. The lactic and salicylic acids work together to remove dead skin cells from the surface of skin and within the pores. It also exfoliates and helps buffer the look of fine lines and deliver skin-firming palmitoyl oligopeptide. Lastly, it helps encourage cell turnover and brightens skin.
While the crystals tend to go on rough, especially for sensitive skin, philosophy’s crystal is manufactured to be applied to even the most sensitive skin, trust us, at Haute Living we suffer from the most sensitive skin. Once the gel is applied, the warming sensation is gentle and quite relaxing (go all out and set the mood with essential oils and candles). Following application, we must admit, our skin has never felt so damn clean. As promised, immediately there is an instant dewy glow.
Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel: $62
This two-step detoxifying oxygen peel is the perfect product to combat a hot and humid New York summer. The Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel combines the purifying benefits of a detoxifying mask with the brightening benefits of an oxygen facial to detoxify and re-oxygenate your skin. Step 1 is the activated charcoal, which draws out dirt and impurities. The charcoal is a highly porous material that gets the job done without stripping the skin of moisture. Step 2 completes the detox with the exclusive barley leaf extract rich in chlorophyll, which delivers a first shot of oxygen to the skin to help increase oxygen levels and energize skin.
If a warm tingly sensation isn’t your thing, opt for the Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel. It goes on smooth with out any sensations. Following the peel, your skin feels and refreshed. It’s a kind of fresh face feeling you haven’t felt since your pre-teen days, pre-acne, pre-stress days.
