What do Coco Chanel, Charlie Chaplin, and Ingrid Bergman have in common besides being among the most famous celebs of the 20th century?
They all loved Valmont, the skin care company that has kept the world’s elite looking its best since the early 1900s. Back then royals, aristocrats, politicians, and artists flocked to Valmont’s exclusive spa in Switzerland for health and wellness treatments, as well as skin care regimens that helped turned back the clock.
In the 1980s, Valmont became the first Swiss clinic entirely dedicated to plastic surgery and European bold-facers decided to be a little less bold when making surreptitious trips to the clinic high above Lake Geneva where they sought treatments and underwent procedures that helped them look younger. It was during this time that Valmont also began developing a range of skin care products to help prolong the effects of plastic surgery. Building on their clinical expertise, researchers isolated the most active molecules for skin regeneration –such as HP DNA and native collagen—which became the core ingredients for the brand’s cellular cosmetic line.
In 2003 Valmont launched a series of spas around the world, starting in Verbier, followed by Hong Kong. In New York you’ll find one at the Plaza Athenee, where according to Valmont’s Alexandra Moulin, the Vitality of the Glaciers facial ranks number one among requested treatments. (In Paris the Valmont spa is at the Hotel Meurice).
The company has been on the move recently, opening its first store, La Maison de Valmont in Hong Kong last year, quickly followed by another Maison in Berlin in January–locations that cater to its far-flung clientele.
Recently Valmont reformulated its lavish Moisturizing Line, a collection of seven products including the just-released Serumulsion, created with a special emulsion designed for super hydration, along with the company’s signature triple DNA anti-aging ingredient. All Valmont products also contain pristine glacial waters from the Swiss Alps.
To celebrate the new Hydration Line, Valmont has partnered with ONE DROP, a charity providing sustainable access to safe water around the world. For any purchase of the seven products in the Hydration Line, Valmont will donate $5.00 to ONE DROP until June 30, 2016.
