Yoga at Brooklyn Grange Navy Yard Farm
Brooklyn Grange is yogi heaven. The building rooftop where the yoga classes take place possess two vegetable farms spanning 2.5 acres. Yes, it’s an extremely large rooftop. It produces over 50,000 lbs. of organically grown vegetables a year. This means whilst you are laying in shavasana, the breeze will bring herb-scented aromas for you to enjoy. Other perks include a view of Manhattan’s skyline and a beautiful sunset situation.

There is no better time to do yoga than at sunset. There is no better place to do sunset yoga than at Battery Park. Every Wednesday at 6:30 a group of yogis meet to practice. It is the most intimate of the outdoor yoga options, besides for getting a pricey private class. This sunset yoga session will only cost you a mere $5 donation, with the option to give more should you be feeling generous. Classes will go until August 26th.

Laughing Lotus
The sheer name of this class makes you feel happier. Laughing Lotus is located in 14th Street Park. For those who aren’t familiar with this park, it is surrounded by NYC traffic and is quite a hectic location. This gives you a better chance to see if you can really focus on your practice and drown out the noise of the city. You might be thinking why would I do a class here when there are much quieter parks? Well, that’s because they have an incredible roster of rotating teachers and are perfectly positioned for a post-yoga walk along the High Line. Also its every Wednesday through Sept. 1 and it’s free.

Rooftop Yoga at the James Hotel
If you’re looking for a more luxurious option, this would be it. The lush James Hotel is a wonderful urban oasis with five-star amenities. They have partnered with experts SERENE Social to offer the perfect private or group rooftop classes. What makes this situation even sweeter is that they have an amazing spa you can enjoy post workout. There is nothing better than a yoga and spa combination. Unless it’s rooftop yoga with panoramic views of this city; which in this case it is.

So surely this should be the ultimate yoga location, right? Right. The Yoga Trail in Central Park is lead almost daily in the charming Sheep’s Meadow. This class focuses on Vinyasa Yoga and is open to those of all levels. It will only set you back $15; a pretty good deal for a class taught by a world-renowned teacher.
