Dr. S. Manjula Jegasothy specializes in aesthetic dermatology and serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is the founder and medical director of the Miami Skin Institute, which she has operated since 2000 in the heart of upscale Coral Gables, just steps from the Village of Merrick Park. Recognized for her expertise, Dr. Jegasothy has consistently been honored with Top Aesthetic Dermatologist awards, including recognition by her peers in the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery (FSDDS) in 2017.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Jegasothy has trained physicians worldwide in advanced injection techniques, earning a reputation for her “light hand” and precision. She is a leading authority on Kybella® fat-reduction treatments and is at the forefront of innovative plasma and laser procedures that enhance both facial and body aesthetics. As an educator, she plays an active role in dermatology training at the University of Miami, where she lectures and contributes to a family endowment.
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Pennsylvania, Dr. Jegasothy earned her B.A. in Biological Anthropology from Harvard College before obtaining her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed postgraduate training at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
A sought-after speaker at international, national, and local aesthetic medical conferences, Dr. Jegasothy is known not only for her groundbreaking nonsurgical procedures but also for her expertise in practice management and marketing. She has served on editorial panels for Cosmetic Dermatology and Skin & Aging and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Her leadership extends to policy and industry influence, having served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery (2003–2006) and on task forces for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). Dr. Jegasothy also consults for institutional investors, venture capital firms, and pharmaceutical companies in the rapidly growing aesthetic medicine sector.
