Ultrasound technology is the cornerstone of innovation at PURE Plastic Surgery. Since 2019, we have been the premier luxury plastic surgery center for ultrasound-guided Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) in the U.S., and we are pleased to offer the latest iteration of VASER liposuction – another example of our commitment to providing the latest in cutting-edge procedures requiring the highly skilled, experienced artistry at PURE.

We strive to continuously improve our offerings through technology that can increase the safety of our surgeries and provide top-tier natural results, and VASER can be used as a complement to traditional liposuction to improve results. VASER stands for vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance. Unlike traditional liposuction, VASER is a gentler option that uses ultrasound technology in the form of sound waves to break apart the bonds in fat cells so that they can be more easily removed.
The Advantages of VASER Liposuction
The ultrasound energy produced from VASER releases and emulsifies the fat, which allows a skilled surgeon to remove more fat from the targeted areas and create a high-definition look. This process creates better skin retraction, which makes the skin appear tighter. Patients may experience less bruising, a decrease in blood loss, and an improved post-op experience.
VASER, an ultrasonic liposuction, creates a more defined contour for body sculpting because it allows better precision at the site and offers protection for the healthy tissue underneath the muscle.

Optimal Body Areas
Among the popular areas ideal for VASER liposuction are the hips, stomach, waist, and thighs. These regions often accumulate stubborn pockets of fat, and VASER liposuction can effectively sculpt and define them. In addition to these, VASER liposuction is also commonly performed on the chin, chest, neck, back, and arms.
Ideal Candidates
Liposuction is used to help reshape the body through the strategic removal of fat that may be stubborn and difficult to eliminate even with proper diet and exercise. Good candidates for VASER liposuction are at or within 30% of their ideal weight, not planning future pregnancies, and are committed to healthy eating and exercise. Those with firm skin, strong elasticity, and muscle tone are also ideal for the procedure. Non-smokers are preferred candidates for VASER liposuction as smoking can increase risks for complications and create a more difficult post-op experience.
Comparing Risks: VASER Liposuction vs. Traditional Liposuction
There are risks to all plastic surgery procedures, including both traditional and VASER liposuction. However, VASER liposuction is considered lower risk because of the decrease in bruising and blood loss. Most patients who undergo liposuction with VASER are less likely to gain the weight back in the targeted areas or need additional rounds of the procedure.
