The Details Behind Refining And Improving Your Skin With Microneedling RF

Are you interested in refining your pores, improving your skin texture, helping acne scars or other scars, or building your collagen and elastin? At Haute Beauty expert Dr. Susan B. Fox's office, she often treats young people in their twenties who want to improve their glow and older people who want to refine the texture of their skin with Microneedling RF treatment.

Just like other treatments, Microneedling RF is multi-faceted, meaning it can be used on many parts of your body. Whether you need treatment on your arms (bat wings), C-section scars, flabby knees, stretch marks, and any other areas of loose skin or scars, Microneedling RF can do the trick. To learn more about the treatment and how it differs from the generic microneedling, Haute Beauty sat down with Dr. Fox; here are the details.

Microneedling RF vs. Microneedling

Just taking a look at the name, you can observe how RF is an addition to the basic microneedling treatment. But, what does that mean? Radiofrequency abbreviated as RF, waves go deep into the dermis of your skin, which does the job of tightening and lifting. By adding RF into the mix of mirconeedling, it allows for dramatic results.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

On the topic of microneedling RF, Dr. Fox always recommends avoiding anything that would make you bleed or bruise, such as NSAIDs. It is always a great idea to avoid the sun, other treatments that can increase skin sensitivity, peels, and harsh laser treatments immediately before. If you suffer from cold sores, advise your physician.

Maintenance Details

Within a few days, you will start to see the texture of your skin improve. Gradually over the next month, the texture of your skin will refine and improve. Microneedling RF is a minimally invasive treatment requiring minimal to no downtime. In fact, most just experience a few hours of redness post-treatment because of the micro damage caused to the skin. The microdamage is what helps your body to create more collagen. Look at microdamage as a micro inquiry, the body repairs this and in doing so produces collagen and elastin. The radiofrequency part of the treatment helps tighten the skin.

Though downtime is minimal, Dr. Fox recommends wearing sunblock daily on the face, especially after Mirconeedling RF. In terms of the treatment, it is recommended to get microneeding every six weeks (three additional sessions) and then maintenance treatments to follow.
