Healthy, beautiful skin, hair and nails. If you ask us, that sounds like a dream - one that can come true when you go to Haute Beauty expert Dr. Anna Chacon! Dr. Chacon is a board-certified dermatologist who’s licensed in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 2 U.S. territories (Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands). To learn more about what keeps this expert going, worldwide, Haute Beauty asked her a range of questions; here’s what she shared.

My greatest achievement:

My greatest achievement is becoming a board-certified dermatologist. The fact that I am able to give back to others and work for underserved communities is what keeps me going day in and day out. I love being able to help people!

What is the future of your field?

Three things: technology, digital health and globalization.

Biggest misconception about your field?

Though many believe dermatology is not more than a cosmetic field, it is. Dermatology is a comprehensive field that deals with complex medical and surgical issues. In point of fact, the skin is your largest organ, and its health is necessary to be healthy.

Most requested procedures?

There are a few top trending procedures, and based on the benefits and capabilities of each, it makes sense. Laser, microneedling, chemical peels, Botox, fillers, surgical removal of skin lesions and skin cancer biopsies, cryotherapy, and electrocautery, to name a few!

Surgical advancements you're most excited about...

Different lasers to treat a variety of inflammatory conditions, such as acne!

What are you best known for?

I am best known for teledermatology. As it says on my website, “dermatology care from anywhere,” and I truly stand by that. I am the only dermatologist licensed in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 2 U.S. territories (Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands).

In the bargain, I also pride myself on indigenous dermatology. I am the only dermatologist who travels out of Miami, Florida, to remote tribal communities in rural parts of Alaska, California, and the Western United States.

Most memorable patient reaction?

Patients who show an immense amount of gratitude. I am always appreciative of knowing I made someone feel better!

What sets your practice apart?

Availability, affordability and quality. Most of my patients can obtain an appointment or have their needs met within 24 hours of a request at an affordable price. I also never send anyone to collections, as our pricing and services are transparent and based on fair market value – they should never come as a surprise to anyone! We practice evidence-based medicine only.

What you love most about your profession...

The versatility and the fact that I can work from anywhere. I truly love learning about dermatology and even study it in my downtime. Hey, knowledge is power!

Career-defining moment?

I graduated from Brown University for my undergraduate and medical school and obtained 53 medical licenses to practice telehealth and teledermatology from abroad.

The new services you're excited to offer:

Telehealth, rejuvenation procedures, surgical procedures, laser technology, and chemical peels!
