My greatest achievement:

My greatest achievements would be my kids and family. I have always put family first and have three amazing children and a loving husband and family.

What is the future of your field?

There are more and more options for minimally invasive vein treatments. These get less and less painful and have little to no downtime, almost no scarring, and very high success rates. These include Varithena, newer and better lasers, and RF devices, glue, and a combination of devices using mechanical and chemical means to close the veins. In the beauty realm, fillers and injectables are moving towards more natural results with bio-stimulators like Sculptra. The newer procedures, microneedling and radio frequency (RF), promote building on own collagen and elastin for a natural look. As we continue to grow, we will see improvements in cutting-edge devices and procedures.

The biggest misconception about my field is...

The biggest misconception is that you'll have to take tons of time off work due to the extensive downtime needed. With the vein and cosmetic procedures we perform, there is almost no downtime. In most instances, you can go back to work immediately. Though cosmetic procedures may show a little bruising, most heal in a few days. Another misconception is that vein disease is all cosmetic. Almost 60% of patients with vein disease have symptoms. Even patients with spider veins have symptoms.

My most requested procedure:

The most requested procedures for veins are endovenous ablation, sclerotherapy, and venous ultrasounds. For cosmetic procedures, we perform a ton of laser hair removal, facials including hydrafacials, peels including vi peel, microneedling, and laser tattoo removal. We perform many other procedures, but what is mentioned above are performed daily, and patients have amazing results with little to no downtime.

What surgical advancements are you most excited about?

I am most excited about Varithena to treat varicose veins and venous insufficiency. It has been available for the past few years. It is an FDA-approved foam injected into the malfunctioning veins under ultrasound guidance. These are performed in the office and close the incompetent veins moving blood to better-functioning veins. The patient must wear a compression hose afterward.

What are you best known for?

Our office is well-known for vein treatments, cosmetic procedures, tattoo removal, hair removal, and our medical spa. We have won many local awards as best vein center, tattoo removal, hair removal and medical spa!

What is your most memorable patient reaction?

I treated a patient who could not afford to be seen but had horrible ulcerations on his legs for years. Without charging him, we were able to treat his veins and heal his ulcers within a few months. He was so grateful for us, writing me a special thank you note and prayer, which I will always keep near and dear to my heart.

What sets your practice apart?

Listening to the patients shows how much we truly care. Our goal is to treat each and every patient with the utmost care and concern. Many physicians dismiss vein disease and often ignore patients who complain of their varicose veins or symptoms of vein issues. What I love most about my profession:

Every day, I meet new patients. My practice is always changing and evolving. What I love most is helping people and then seeing them happy with their results after. Over the treatment period, I am able to get to know our patients, which is always wonderful!

Career-defining procedure?

Endovenous laser! I started performing these over 20 years ago in Cleveland. I was the first person to perform these in Cleveland and, to this day, have performed tens of thousands of these.

What new services are you excited to offer?

We have many new procedures in the office such as microneedling that uses radiofrequency to improve festoons, and eye bags, and tighten the body and chin/face areas. Virtue RF is a leader in microneedling and radio frequency and has a stronger RF than most other devices allowing greater results with less pain. The machine helps you build your own collagen and elastin, tightening the skin, shrinking the pores, and improving skin texture. We also perform microneedling to assist in hair regrowth. We performed a study using microneedling and anteage stem cells or PRP and had amazing results.

We have also been offering Varithena for several years for the minimally invasive treatment of veins, allowing us to treat large varicose veins without having to operate on all these to remove them. We also offer physiq body, which uses electrostimulation and laser to tone and tighten the body. This has recently won many awards.
