You've lost a substantial amount of weight. At the beginning of your weight loss journey, the fat melted off your body. Now, eating clean and going to the gym is no longer cutting it. No matter what you do, you feel like the last few pounds are here to stay. If frustrated by this roadblock, there are options that go beyond liposuction.

In particular, Lipolaser treatment is a non-invasive treatment focusing on fat removal, body shaping and cellulite. Haute Beauty sat down with Haute Beauty expert Paula Christiansen at the Mint Wellness Center to learn more about the fat loss treatment. Here's what they had to say:

Who makes an ideal candidate?

Lipolaser treatment is most effective for healthy men and women within 20 pounds of their ideal weight who have unwanted pockets of fat in arms, back, hips, abdomen, thighs and waist and diet and exercise aren't enough.

What does the downtime look like?

Unlike liposuction treatment, Lipolaser is a painless, safe and non-invasive treatment that uses red light technology to penetrate the skin and target specific fat cells. Lipolaser emits soft levels of laser energy through treatment pads and is based on the application of laser energy at very precise wavelengths and strengths, targeting areas like the abdomen, waist, thighs, hips, arms, neck, and face. On average, Lipolaser sessions take one hour, depending on the area treated.

How many treatments are needed to see results?

Results and number of sessions will be different from person to person but in general, at least six sessions are required (two-three per week) and the results are visible a week after the first session and will gradually increase after the subsequent sessions.

Where does the removed fat go?

The process is simple. The laser diodes stimulate the fat cell to release fatty acids, water and other contents. These will be picked up by the lymphatic system and excreted through sweat and urine.
