At Chicago Breast & Body Aesthetics, Morpheus8 is one of our favorite treatments to do because the results we can get for our patients are unmatched. Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive, in-office treatment that combines a micro-needling and radiofrequency technology to stimulate collagen production in deep layers of the skin. Radiofrequency fractional technology targets the deep layers of the skin with controlled energy to tighten and remodel the skin. Morpheus8 is very effective because it has the ability to probe deeper into the skin than any other microneedling /radiofrequency device on the market. Haute Beauty expert, Dr. Batista speaks further on the areas that can be treated, what makes an ideal candidate, and the benefits of Morpheus8.

What areas can be treated?

Morpheus8 is most commonly used on the face and neck, however, it also works on areas of the body where you are experiencing skin laxity (loose or sagging skin), wrinkles, scarring, stretch marks, or discoloration are present. This can include the hands, arms, legs, abdomen, and buttocks.

What makes an ideal candidate?

A good candidate for Morpheus8 is people who are showing visible signs of aging such as sagging skin, wrinkles, loss of volume. Morpheus8 is great for treating common skin conditions and ultimately helps improve the firmness and elasticity in the skin. The Morpheus8 treatment is good for all skin types, even darker skin types.

How do I prepare for Morpheus8?

To prepare for your Morphues8 treatment, you should avoid anything that can cause skin irritation such as direct sun exposure. Additionally, you should stop the use of irritant topical products like retinol or tretinoin 2-3 days before your treatment.

What are the benefits of Morpheus8?

In short, once you finish your treatment protocol, you’ll end up with more radiant, youthful-looking skin as a result of the skin tightening. Some common conditions we treat with Morpheus8 include acne, acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles, reducing the appearance of scars and stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and texture.

What is the downtime?

Following your Morpheus8 treatment, you can expect to leave our office with what looks like a moderate sunburn. You can expect 1-3 days of redness, swelling, and possible itchiness. During the first few days, you should avoid sun exposure to the treated area. For the first 24 hours, we recommend nothing be applied to the skin except an Aquaphor-like ointment. At our practice we like to provide patients with EltaMD Silver Gel, which helps promote healing, prevent bacterial growth, and provides moisture. Patients should keep the area clean, moisturized, and use broad-spectrum SPF to avoid hyperpigmentation after 2-3 days.

How many treatments are necessary? How long should I wait between treatments?

Depending on your skin condition and what area is being treated, the average number of treatments recommended is between 3 and 4 sessions spaced 3-6 weeks apart. Morpheus8 results are long-lasting, but nothing is permanent so you may need to consider a yearly maintenance treatment for best results.
