The return of the Met Gala — recall that the event faced an untimely cancelation last year due to the coronavirus — left the internet flooded with photos and commentary highlighting the nation’s most glamorous night of the year. The attending celebrities not only spent months planning their chic ensembles with the world’s most talented designers, but they also devoted time to prepping their skin with the finest facials and beauty products. Of course, Gabrielle Union was one of them.

While the 48-year-old actress enthralled spectators with her custom-made sculptural piece created by Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen, it was the star’s radiant complexion that perfectly balanced out her striking look. How did she achieve such a flawless canvas? Answer: a pre-Met facial inspired by esthetician Joanna Czech and 111 Skin

Clearly impressed with her skin, Union posted a selfie on Instagram and credited Czech and the skincare brand for helping her secure a natural glow. “Really?!?!?! Nawwwwwwww but for real tho,” Union captioned her post.

Serving as Dior’s Global Skincare Expert, Czech believes the key to beautiful skin requires long-term approaches that incorporate seasonal routines and healthy lifestyles rather than short-term quick fixes. With a long list of celebrity clients (including but not limited to Jennifer Aniston, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet and Kim Kardashian), Czech combines innovative technologies and timeless techniques to custom treat skin based on the condition instead of the type. If you can’t access her studios in Dallas or New York City, you can read her honest opinions about skincare and shop her favorite products on her blog: CzechList

Though Union didn’t specify which 111 Skin products she used, the skincare giant’s multi-masking technique — which combines the use of the Sub-Zero De-Puffing Eye Mask underneath the eyes and the Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Facial Mask layered over the top — provides the ultimate glow; no wonder it was administered to the Monse models at New York City Fashion Week!
