HB: What is BodyTite and FaceTite?

BodyTite and FaceTite are new FDA-approved, state-of-the-art minimally invasive procedures that contour the body and face respectively removing stubborn pockets of fat and tightening the skin without the downtime or scars of a surgical procedure.

HB: How does BodyTite and FaceTite work?

This machine uses radiofrequency to create heat that destroys fat and tightens the skin. The procedure is done under sedation but is less invasive than surgery so there are no scars and very minimal downtime. Very small incisions are made in order to pass a probe under the skin which heats the deeper layers of the dermis causing the fat to melt and the skin to tighten leading to immediate results. In addition to the skin tightening, the collagen is stimulated which continues to help and improve the tightening effect for up to a year after the procedure. There is a small probe that can be used on the face, jawline and neck and a larger probe which is meant for areas such as the abdomen, thighs, knees, arms, and love handles.

HB: Who is the best candidate for this procedure?

This procedure opens a door where there was never one before for people who would like to improve the contour of the jawline, abdomen, thighs, knees, arms, breasts and remove fat but are hesitant to undergo a full surgical procedure that will inevitably result in a scar; a new "in-between". Many people in their 30s, 40s and early 50s who would like improvement in those areas but feel they are "not ready" for a facelift, abdominoplasty or arm lift would be great candidates. Additionally, those who have undergone a surgical procedure and may not be satisfied with the skin-tightening results or had a procedure in the past and now, after gravity has taken its toll for several years, have excess skin or sagging.

HB:  How does this treatment compare to others of the same nature?

There is no treatment currently that compares to this technology. The incisions are similar to those with liposuction but liposuction only removes fat and does not tighten the skin. Results are excellent and obviously leave no scar as opposed to abdominoplasties (tummy tucks), facelifts, neck lifts, thighplasties and Brachioplasty (arm lifts). As always this is an alternative to surgical procedures but some patients are still better surgical candidates.

HB: What does recovery look like?

Recovery varies depending on the extent of the procedure and the area covered. There is always some soreness and bruising post-procedure. With a small area, you can expect to return to work within several days but if a large area of the body is covered, you can expect up to 7-10 days before you feel completely back to yourself. You will see some results immediately but the effect of the machine will continue to work and improve your results for up to a year after the procedure is done.
