The Weekend Breast Augmentation Is Even Better Than The Usual One!

How is the Weekend Breast Augmentation different from the average breast augmentation?

The “weekend breast augmentation” is basically the new and improved “average breast augmentation”. With old technology and instrumentation, the approach was harder on the tissues. The trauma of the surgery resulted in a harder and longer recovery with more complications. Modern instruments allow a more gentle approach. A patient’s dimensions and tissue quality direct the appropriate implant and a funnel helps place the implant into the breast with a smaller inframammary incision. Utilizing these techniques and a more modern regimen of non-narcotic pain medications such as Advil and other anti-inflammatories, patients are typically able to return to work within 3 days.

Who is a good candidate?

Anyone who qualifies for a breast augmentation qualifies for the “weekend breast augmentation”. These patients entail women that have small breasts, or perhaps deflated breasts after weight loss, pregnancy or aging. This is usually best determined during the patient’s consultation where the tissue is examined and specific measurements are taken to make sure a breast augmentation is the right surgery for them. It is important to have a consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Do you prefer it to other methods?

This is the pretty much the only technique I use today in performing a breast augmentation. I feel as though I can get precise results and very happy, comfortable patients. It is always amazing to see a patient three days after surgery having no complaints and back to work.

What does recovery look like?

Recovery is pretty straight forward when doing a rapid recovery breast augmentation. Patients are usually given Advil for pain control and sometimes a muscle relaxant if they have muscle spasm over the first day. A lot of patients will go out to dinner the first night after surgery. Patients can return to work after three days but are asked to limit any heavy lifting, nothing more than 10lbs. After 2 weeks patients can start light exercise but should avoid any chest exercises. At 4 weeks patients can go back to more intense workouts.
