HB: What is Nordlys?
IPL or Intense Pulse Light
HB: What type of treatment is it?
It is a treatment that delivers light energy to treat a wide range of hyperpigmentation, freckles, sun damage, rosacea and blood vessels. IPL may also improve skin tone, texture and firmness.
HB: Who is a good candidate?
Those with Fitzpatrick skin types 1 and 2 are the best candidates because of their skin type. Those patients with evidently dark pigmentation (sun spots and freckles) will have the best results.
HB: How does the Nordly's work?
Numbing cream and cool soothing gel can be applied to the skin before the treatment. IPL device is activated to deliver pulses of intense light to the targeted area. The treated areas feel warm but not painful, like a mild sunburn. IPL treatment can last anywhere between twenty minutes and an hour, but a typical session is approximately 30 minutes.
HB: What does recovery look like?
Full recovery takes about one week as the treated areas start to fade and peel off. It is crucial to avoid sun exposure following IPL treatments and several treatments are necessary in order to achieve noticeable and desirable results.
