Doc Zara Harutyunyan: PDO Thread Lift is not an Ordinary Lift

PDO thread lift is a novel approach to non-surgical face, eyebrow and neck lifting. The PDO thread lifting procedure helps to regenerate and improve the structure of the face and body without the need for surgery. This is a relatively simple treatment, which requires only one or two sessions of 30-45 minutes, using a topical local anesthetic.

It uses special threads, which are introduced into the skin with a very fine needle to lift the tissue and improve skin texture. The threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), which is a material that has been used in medicine for many years, mainly in surgery. Research has shown that PDO stimulates neocollagenesis, which encourages the production of new collagen in the skin.

A lifted appearance can be seen immediately following the treatment; however, the results will improve in the following days and weeks as the PDO stimulates neocollagenesis, which in turn produces collagen.

The overall texture of the skin is improved; it becomes thicker, tighter and firmer and other skin issues like open pores, fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed away as well.

Different lengths of thread are used for different areas of the face. Short strands of threads can be used to treat fine lines around the eyes, while thicker strands can be injected into the cheek area or jaw line. Many different areas of the face can be treated at the same time.

PDO threads with barbs are used to lift, reposition, and secure static sagging skin. Using several different needle techniques, significant eyebrow, cheek, jaw, neck, buttock, and even breast lifts can be achieved … without surgery!

What areas can a PDO Thread Lift improve?

  • Cheeks
  • Brow
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Jowls
  • Lips
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Neck
  • Knees
  • Breast
  • Buttocks

The best part of this entire treatment is that the body naturally absorbs the threads in several months. These threads are extremely versatile and can be used all around the face and neck, typically for drooping cheeks.

There can be some discomfort, bleeding, bruising, swelling, tissue dimpling and bunching. Downtime can last for 5 days to up to two weeks, but gentle daily activities can be resumed straight away.

Since it’s performed in under one hour with minimal breaks, PDO thread lift has become a favorite with people preferring non-surgical procedures as this lift is created using your body’s own collagen.
