For years, Breast Implant Illness (BII) was largely misunderstood, leaving thousands of women struggling with symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, and autoimmune-like reactions without answers. Dr. Landon Pryor, founder of PryorHealth, has made it his mission to change that.
Through specialized explant surgery, holistic recovery protocols, and the establishment of one of the nation’s only Breast Implant Illness Centers of Excellence, he’s helping women reclaim their health and their confidence.
Dr. Pryor’s path shifted in 2018 when he attended a seminar in Rockford, Illinois. There, he heard stories from women suffering with BII—symptoms often dismissed as “in their head.” Having performed breast augmentations earlier in his career, he was deeply moved.
That moment inspired a radical decision: to focus exclusively on explant surgeries and holistic post-operative care. “Too many women were leaving their doctors without answers,” he says. “At PryorHealth, we validate every patient’s experience and provide real solutions.”
Although BII is not yet formally recognized as a medical diagnosis, PryorHealth is advancing the science. Partnering with medical students at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, the practice supports ongoing research to better understand the mechanisms of BII and contribute data to the field. By engaging the next generation of physicians, Dr. Pryor is helping ensure that BII receives the academic and clinical attention it deserves.
Central to his work is total capsulectomy explant surgery, which removes both the implant and surrounding capsule tissue that can harbor silicone and inflammatory substances. “Removing just the implant isn’t enough,” Dr. Pryor explains. “A full capsulectomy gives patients the best chance for meaningful recovery.”
But the care doesn’t stop there. PryorHealth integrates holistic therapies to address inflammation, detoxification, and long-term healing. Patients benefit from adjunctive treatments such as IV therapy to support detox and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to reduce inflammation and promote recovery.

Education and emotional support are also core to the practice. Patient advocates like Laura Bowden, a longtime BII voice, and Yvette Melby, a survivor and explant coach, guide women through the process. “Women should never feel alone or dismissed when dealing with BII,” says Dr. Pryor.
The team’s expertise extends further with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Aditya Sood, who specializes in advanced explant techniques, including fat transfer for patients seeking safe volume restoration. This multidisciplinary approach—surgical precision paired with holistic support—positions PryorHealth as a trusted destination for women navigating BII in Illinois and Florida.
Many women treated at PryorHealth describe transformative improvements in health and quality of life. Patients who once struggled with debilitating fatigue, joint pain, or cognitive fog often regain energy, mobility, and mental clarity.
Others who had incomplete explants elsewhere found relief only after receiving comprehensive care at PryorHealth. For them, the combination of total capsulectomy, therapeutic adjuncts, and holistic support marked the turning point in their recovery.
Since launching the BII Centers of Excellence, PryorHealth has become a hub for awareness and education, working with advocates and researchers to shift how the medical community and public view BII. For Dr. Pryor, the mission is clear: “Our work is about more than surgery. It’s about giving women answers, restoring confidence, and creating a space where their health concerns are taken seriously.”
