It’s beginning to look a lot like cosmetic surgery season. The holiday times are when most people, whether they are in college or working a full-time job, have time off. And if you are looking to undergo a cosmetic procedure that constitutes, downtime. At Haute Beauty expert Dr. Robert Vitolo’s office has three surgeries he finds to be the most popular during the holiday times: liposuction, lower eyelid surgery, and endoscopic facelifts. After sitting down with Dr. Vitolo to learn about each, we understand why they are the most ideal, especially if you are trying to make it to a Christmas or Hannukah party anytime soon. Here’s what he shared in regard to the healing time and post-procedure care of each.
1. Liposuction
Healing time: 2 days
When Dr. Vitolo performs full body liposuction, he uses a special foam tape on your skin, after surgery which prevents black and blue only in the areas where it is placed. After applying the tape, Dr. Vitolo has you wear a mild compression garment for two days and then spanks. From then on, there are no restrictions.
2. Lower Eyelid Surgery
Healing time: 1 day
The way Dr. Vitolo performs a lower eyelid surgery allows a patient to walk away without swelling or bruising. If you were to take the bottom eyelid and pull it down, the pink part of your eyelid is where an incision is made. The incision heals in a few hours and the resultant scar is inside the eyelid and not visible. There is usually no black and blue so no one will know you had the surgery.
3. Endoscopic Facelift
Healing time: 4 to 5 days
Endoscopic facelifts are usually combined with the liposuction of the jowls and under the chin. The day after surgery there is usually no black and blue in sight. Though keep in mind that going to a holiday party is probably not in your best interest for at least a few days as you will have a dressing on for two days At that point, you are all set to go out.
