He is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in cosmetic fillers as acknowledged in the prestigious Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) by the president of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. C. William Hanke. Dr. Mariano Busso was honored to be a part of the FDA advisory panel that developed national guidelines for the use of cosmetic fillers. Over the past three decades, Dr. Busso has developed one of the largest cosmetic practices in the U.S. based in Miami, Florida and has since expanded his practice to Beverly Hills, California to serve his celebrity clientele. My greatest achievement:
Changing the world of fillers by introducing lidocaine into any filler and being able to change its physical properties.
The future of my field is:
The field is going towards less invasive / minimal downtime procedures. Tissue repositioning with threads will become the gold standard.
The biggest misconception about my field is:
Only surgical approaches can achieve true rejuvenation.
My most requested procedures are:
Fillers to reverse dark circles.
What are you best known for?
Filler injections for facial recontouring and BussoLyft (lifting fat pads with threads and fillers).
What is your most memorable patient reaction?
Patients crying after seeing results that they did not believe were possible.

Developing the technique for hand augmentation with Radiesse and now the BussoLyft.

We participated on the development of EMSCULPT and now on the next generation of EMSCULPT, I cannot disclose name yet.
