After much anticipation, the launch date for Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line has finally been revealed.
The pop icon announced on Instagram that her makeup label is to hit the shelves on Sept. 8. The time coincides with New York Fashion Week, which will feature the latest Fenty x Puma by Rihanna show.
Engaged in a slew of projects that transcend the music stage, RiRi has spent years bringing her beauty brand to fruition. It all started back in 2014, when the Barbadian celebrity secured several trademarks under her last name – From Fenty Clothing to Fenty Beauty. A year later, Rihanna admitted on working on a cosmetic line without specifying its debut date.
“It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do, but I’ve always had so much on my hands,” she told Refinery29 in 2015. “But, this time, I’m going to make sure it happens. I’m going to find some time between albums and fragrance to do that. I promise.”
This year, the rumors around the launch date of Fenty Beauty has intensified around Rihanna’s mentions of the brand on Instagram. She teased images of her makeup visage with references to Fenty Beauty, hinting that her glow stemmed from her own products. The fans got the message – the brand was ready to soon drop.
A little over a month until its official premiere, Fenty Beauty has its own website, where followers can join “the new generation of beauty.”
A collaboration between Rihanna and the luxury LVMH conglomerate, Fenty Beauty is to retail globally at Sephora and Harvey Nichols.
