Rihanna knows how to work the red carpet.
On Monday, the singer-turned-actress beamed under the camera flashes in an ensemble that drew the attention away from the event, itself – the London debut of Riri’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets adventure flick.
Rihanna flaunted an extra-puff, super-cleavage-revealing Giambattista Valli gown that seemed it could slip off her arms any moment. And yet, despite what looked like a particularly uncomfortable style choice for mere mortals, the “Work” girl didn’t stumble once under the voluminous fiery-red couture dress. Neither did she adjust its straps that appeared precariously poised off her shoulders.
While most of her curves – save for an ample bosom and healthy arms – huddled under the royal-worthy attire, Rihanna’s face, bared by her slipped-back hair, beamed in well-balanced makeup. Her lips pouted in a crimson shade of lipstick that provided an alluring contrast to her highlighted cheeks but matched her Chopard earrings. According to an Instagram caption of an image that showed Rihanna going out later in the night, her flawless look featured products from her up-and-coming Fenty Beauty brand, slated for release sometime in the fall.
While Rihanna stunned, her film is sort of tanking. In the US, Valerian grossed only $17 million in the opening weekend – only a sliver of its $180 million budget.
