Having risen to global phenomenon, K-beauty can easily tip toward the pricey end. Fortunately, an affordable international makeup brand is to soon relieve the financial bane of Korean picks.
New York-based E.L.F. announced the launch of its Beauty Shield collection, which squeezes inspiration for K-beauty skincare products. The line was presented at the label’s influencer dinner in Palm Springs last week.
The collection features seven products that ward off the skin from the elements like UV rays and smog that contribute to its damage and ageing.
“K-beauty [recognizes] the impact of environmental aggressors and shielding their skin from all these we are all susceptible to,” said Archelle Richards, E.L.F.’s creative director, to Brit + Co. “[And I thought] there needs to be that out here in the States.”
Free of parabens, alcohol, phthalates and sulfates, all products can be used under makeup and range in price from $8 to $24.
The Beauty Shield comprises of:
Gel-cream Massaging Overnight Recovery Cream ($14), which boasts a rollerball applicator that massages vitamin C, argan oil, carrot seed oil and pomegranate extract deep into your skin;
Iron-infused Recharging Magnetic Mask Set ($24) that can lift impurities out of your pores with the power of its iron and argan oil base;
Daily Defense Makeup Mist ($8), whose licorice extract and vitamin E spritz freshness into your mid-day look without sabotaging your makeup;
Massaging Dual Defense Cleansing Facial Brush ($8), which comes with a paddle end and silicone bristles that scoop out and away the makeup from your face;
Vitamin E-rich Skin Shielding Primer SPF 50 ($12), which smooths over pores to give a flawless look;
Skin brightening Vitamin C Pollution Prevention Serum ($16), packed with vitamin C and E and pomegranate extract that together lighten up the skin;
Antioxidant-heavy Skin Shielding Moisturizer SPF 50 ($12) with carrot seed and sunflower seed oils that create a radiant foundation base.
